This is a delightful establishment in the charming village of Crantock. In July, when we visited, the pots and baskets were in full bloom making the courtyard area an extremely pleasant area to sit and spend an hour chatting to other clients. Seating was mostly outside, though there was a table indoors. I am not sure what happens in the less favourable weather. I should have followed my initial instinct and done what the menu suggested at the bottom, which was to ask for a smaller portion if you don't have a big appetite. My club sandwich was massive! Very good quality ingredients were used including extremely fresh bread, which is so often overlooked elsewhere.

This cute little café is tucked away in the middle of Crantock village, down the path which takes you to the Albion inn. It's worth seeking out as it's the nicest café around. Much of the seating is outdoors in a lovely courtyard garden with roofing and greenery over part of it to shelter people from the sun.

The menu is perfect, good size sandwiches, breakfast and cakes and ice cream sundaes. We had a sundae each but one was enough for both of us to share, they are huge.

The café is dog friendly as well and they have water and treats for the dog, plus a little arts and crafts shop as well.

On the first visit we had two cream teas which were delicious. The staff are very accommodating and serve really good coffee. They bring extra hot water for the tea without having to ask for it. The cafe is in a really lovely setting with plenty of tables outside, some under cover out of the sun. Beautiful hanging baskets and pots of flowers and a bird feeding station in the corner of the garden.

On the second visit, we felt the jam and cream which came with the cream tea wasn't really enough for two decent sized scones and looked a bit mean. Suddenly everyone started to leave because they were shutting early for the football - prior warning would have been appreciated.

Been to the cosy book now on several occasions but always for breakfast and I can't fault it. The location is ideal and the service is amazing. I always have eggs Benedict which is beautifully cooked (I enjoy crispy bacon and the nook does not disappoint). My partner has the big breakfast (again he doesn't eat beans or tomatoes and the nook accommodates this with an extra serving if bacon or mushrooms). Everything is always cooked to order and the quality of the produce you can tell is high. Worth the wait and a nice little gallery to pass some of the time. If the weather isn't great you can sit inside the gallery or in the cottage itself or there is an undercover outdoor bit with lovely grape vines to enjoy. We shall be back cosy nook!!!
