Recently back from 5 nights at Trewinda Lodge with a friend. The owners were very friendly and helpful and the continental breakfast was a hit. The beach was only around the corner which looked fantastic and was fantastic.
The buses in Newquay are great and not expensive and same goes for St Austell so catch a bus rather than drive and trying to find a parking space. All the sites are not more than 1 hour from anywhere within Cornwall.
The restaurants in Newquay are varied. We tried the Portuguese - try it very friendly and food extremely nice. Casa Dicks Mexican restaurant, girls be aware they serve large portions of food and the cocktails aren't bad either. The Beach restaurant (yes on the beach) is also a very nice place for lunch and I expect dinner but we never managed to get there. There is a Weatherspoon which is cheap of course and the Griffin Inn which also serves food but book early to avoid disappointment.
I will in the words of Arnold 'be back' next year.More
