This is a lovely quirky National Trust property - the roof is really quirky and lovely gardens, however it only consists of 4 rooms and the garden with a charge of £4.60 per adult - there are other NT properties which provide much better value.

A very interesting building full of history and character well worth a visit. Plenty of information was given about the history and the staff were very helpful indeed.

Wonderful higgledy-piggledy roof, quite charming. Plenty of information inside this lovely characterful property. The garden at the rear of the property is a delight - a true cottage garden. Well worth stopping by.

While visiting Tintagel Castle we noticed The Old Post Office – a remarkable looking building in the centre of Tintagel. From the outside it is best described as quaint with a very uneven roof. It all becomes clear when you realise that the original 1300s thatched building expanded into the roof several centuries later and the slates replaced the thatch. Note the buttresses at the back of the house which were built to stop the walls collapsing from the extra weight of the slate roof! This was the second property ever acquired by the National Trust and as usual they have done a great job of presenting and explaining its features. Unsurprisingly the stairs are narrow and the ceilings and doors low but it is well worth a visit. The back garden is a delightful spot to contemplate the building from.
