Located near a park with a children's play area. All seats outside, but not a problem as it was a sunny day. Had cream tea for two, plus a bottle of stilleatet. Bill came to £7.50,which included 50p for use of a debit card. Only payable if transaction under £10.00. Prompt service by friendly young staff. They even offered to fill up my water bottle with tap water rather than me purchase a bottle of water, nice touch. Very nice toilets. Cream tea was lovely.

As we have a dog its a bit difficult to find a good cafe with attractive outdoor space to allow us to take our dog with us. We always try to avoid the big coffee chains and spotted the Anchorstone Cafe as we were about to give up and leave Dartmouth without the pleasure of mid morning coffee and cake. The outdoor area is very pleasant with a beautiful view of the estuary. The coffee was excellent and the cakes were superb, although a sudden gust of wind blew the last morsel of my cake on to the floor and Bee, our black labradour, obligingly finished it for me! The staff were really cheerful and friendly, altogether a very pleasant place to spend a relaxing hour enjoying the sun, the beautiful view and some very good coffee. Sue, Mark and Bee

Celebrated a 50th birthday at this lovely lunch spot. Superb fresh fish, great views and service. Sitting right by the River Dart in delightful Dittisham. Food enjoyed by us included crab bisque, scallops, bouillabaisse, beer battered haddock. All excellent and a plate of the most delicious brownies as a birthday cake surprise for the birthday girl. A very popular place, rightly so, which means booking is essential.
