I stumbled upon this café.. what a treat. We fully intended to go in for just a tea and coffee but the treats we saw encouraged us to buy a devon clotted cream scone for later, we asked the staff if it was possible to have two to take away and they were happy to package 2 scones with yummy jam and superb clotted cream on plates, even supplied plastic knives to make up scones in our hotel bedroom later that day. Wonderful. It made our day.

Only had the above. Good location with some character and potential to people watch. Menu looked good and would certainly try it if looking for lunch in Datmouth in the future.

We stopped in here for a very nice Tea and Cake. Set in the little market square, its friendly and worth a stop whilst at the market!

Food is very overpriced for what you get, 2 thin (very) slices of ham, 2 eggs and a slice of toast £6.50. Same price for a round of prawn sandwiches or a very dry burger. Burger wouldn't have been so bad if it came with chips instead of a hand full of crisps.

The Market Cafe is in a lovely quiet location in the old market in Dartmouth. Privately owned it serves lovely coffee and a small selection of cakes. You can also get light lunches there - its very popular with the locals, which is always good. Theres a choice of indoor or outdoor seating.

Thank Margaret J
