Ate at the cafe in the reception courtyard as the restaurant in the main house was closed
Nice ambiance and lit wood burning stove
Simple, but adequate menu with specials, sandwiches, jacket potatoes and scones in addition to cake
Range of drinks including tea and coffee
Usual NT prices which are on the high side

We enjoyed their Christmas menu complete with cracker, well presented, not to long to wait and cooked to perfection. Waiters and waitresses were helpful and prompt. The kitchen was immaculately clean and tidy with further banners of Wind in the Willows to tie in with the Christmas presentation. There is enough choice for vegetarians as well as the traditional turkey breast.

Take a step back in time and visit this lovely cafe, a good place to relax n the grounds of the house.

On a visit to Killerton House we first checked out the cafe in the courtyard which offers hot drinks, soup, jacket potatoes, but we fancied a main meal so went to the Kitchen Restaurant at the rear of the property which offers waitress service.

Staff were friendly and showed us to a table, we ordered coffees and checked the menus.

There was a great choice of meals, we selected butternut squash risotto and sausage and mash.

The food was delicious and the portions generous.

Really enjoyed our visit and though the food and service was really good.

The NT properties might be grand but the cafe is not.
The cream tea was minute for £3.50, a small dry scone with a tiny pot of jam and maybe a dessert spoon of cream. The portion of cake was also very small for £3.50
The coffee was OK.
The toilet was untidy, paper towels spilling from the bin and on the floor. Did not seem too clean either.
The toilet in the car park was also very smelly.
