We spent 4 nights, flawless gem and brilliantly located, walking distance to small beach , walk few minutes right on leaving MBH and friendly cafe and in other direction, town centre.
The couple looking after us friendly and perfectly approachable.
The breakfast stands out from the competition, professional operation, smoothly progressing from taking order to bringing hot food to the table. They take pride in delivering artisan breads ( white and granary excellent) , croissants mouthwatering, range of jams and marmalades and pastries that would make the Parisians and Viennese blush.
We pre-warned that we were vegetarians but we needn’t have as plenty there to choose from. The hot dishes beautifully delivered and eggs made anyway you’d like, made with serious Cheffy intention and immaculately presented. Dippy eggs good idea. Poached eggs very good. Muesli excellent. Even the butter seemed handmade, soft and creamy. Clearly, hard working people bent on making the experience a happy one.

Babbacombe recommended so we went for traditional Devon tea at Angels. It was a good referral. Great value and proper job.

Also recommended was Cockington Court, also went, good day out, free but parking charges apply.

In a world of mediocrity, this place reminds us that there is after all perfection in small things . Well done indeed. We will unreservedly commend to friends. We’ll return.

What can we say but thank you! From each and every member of the team who work, as you identified, to make your stay as special as we can. We never forget how lucky we are to be here at Meadfoot, in what is one of the jewels of South Devon. And it's our privilege and pleasure to share that with each and every guest. And we hope it shows!

We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Best wishes from Phil, Vicki, Jody and the rest of the team at TMB

This hotel has just got better and better! A new season has welcomed a stylish new look that just oozes class and quality. Vicki and Phil and their team are welcoming, attentive and highly professional but not intrusive! Quality and service is key in everything - cleanliness, furnishings and food and drink. The breakfast is beyond par and truly sets one up for the day and the availability of food in the evening is real plus. Can't say enough - well done guys and we'll be back!

Dear Nicola

Thanks for taking the time to review your second stay here at the bay. As a returning visitor from last year, we await before and after reviews with particular interest, so are obviously thrilled that you like the new look Meadfoot Bay!

Hope you won't leave it too long before you visit us again and maybe next time Charlie will come too?

Meantime hope you have a lovely summer. It's another scorcher here today but with a lovely cooling sea breeze it's all the more pleasant.

Best wishes from all the team at the Bay

I can't rate this place high enough, from your arrival to your departure you want for nothing. Met by the owners on arrival with a welcoming drink was a superb gesture. Our suit was spotlessly clean and the whole hotel is simply immaculate. The breakfast is second to none and the cooked food was first class, dare I mention the pancakes !! Well I must as they are by far 100% unbelievable. Well done the Phil, Vicki and their team an a truly fantastic experience. Can't wait to return some day

Dear Dale

Two words - Thank You!

And we'll be sure to pass on your compliments to the housekeeping team which probably isn't necessary as they're so house proud they check the reviews for mentions more frequently than even we do! Same goes for chef and your praise for her pancakes which I can assure won't have gone unnoticed either! It is very much a team effort here at Meadfoot and each and everyone of us thank you for your generous comments and hope we'll have the chance to welcome you back soon.

Best wishes from Phil, Vicki, Jody and all the team the TMB

Hi Brian

OK we know we've said it before but we think that the Meadfoot area really does give guests the very best of both worlds when visiting Torquay. As you say we're far enough away from the hustle and bustle, but a short stroll finds you right by the Marina and some of the best restaurants Torquay has to offer. Or an even shorter stroll takes you down to beautiful Meadfoot Bay. So you really can have the best of both worlds and a breakfast that isn't half bad too!

We hope you'll find the time to escape the hustle and bustle again soon and make your way back to the Bay where you can be sure of another warm welcome from us all here at TMB

the last time I was here the décor was red and gold. when I returned at the beginning of the month there were new owners and the place had been re-decorated in white and grey and I think it was absolutely brilliant. Phil and Vikki who now run the place were warm and welcoming and great hosts. Two things that stood out as well to me was that I could have breakfast on the decking depending on the weather in the morning and they now do evening meals which is a major plus as it saves going into town if you just what a relaxing evening at the hotel and a walk to the near by beach. This hotel is definitely a 5 out of 5. So much so the whilst we were there my partner and I booked our holiday for next year. To cap it all in a nut shell, great people great food and a great location for the peace and quiet. 5 stars plus.

It'a bit difficult to know how to reply to a review like that except to say a very grateful thank you! Of course the ultimate endorsement is that you've already booked for next year. And the best suite in the house!! Promise that we won't be sitting on our laurels in the interim and that when you return we'll have taken the Bay onto yet another level.

Look forward to seeing you then and thanks once agin for the very kind words.

All the best from the team at the Bay
