Lovely hotel, very friendly staff. Lovely bedroom and the power shower was the most powerful ever!
The only problem was noise, hoovering whilst I was trying to sleep plus lots of noise from drunk people outside however this wasn't the fault of the hotel.
Very nice breakfast.

Elderly aunt, husband and I had carvery. The meat was chewy, all vegetables band gravy were cold or Luke warm. Poor value for money. Vegitarian option for a hot meal is only risotto. After 20 years in town, I feel this eating option is tired. There is much competition in town.

Thank you for taking the time to feed back on your recent visit to us, I am sorry to see we did not meet your expectations on this occasion. We have recently appointed a new head chef, who has come from our sister hotel in Dartmouth. Dan is bringing with him exciting new menus, and a new lease of life into the kitchen with a real focus on the best fresh, seasonal and local produce, so we look forward to welcoming you back again soon & bettering your experience.

A bit late in writing this review but I went to this lovely place in December for a Christmas party with work and I have to say it was excellent! The food was festive and very tasty with decently sized portions - so my compliments go to the chef. The atmosphere that was created was perfect and all staff were very attentive and friendly. With all the decorations around the room it felt truly magical! On our table we had an allocated waitress who was well presented and very happy to try and meet any requests we had. She had an excellent smile and seemed to know what she was doing and although she was allocated to our table, she was happy to help the other waiting staff when needed. I managed to see her name badge as Katie, so thank you for making the evening even more enjoyable. I since have seen her a couple of times in the bar downstairs doing an equally good job so well done! I hope she gets noticed and the girl that was left with her till the end that night also well done it was brilliant! Highly recommend this place not only for lunch but also for private functions! I hope we get our staff do there this year too!!

Nice room, comfy bed with excellent breakfast. Parking bit limited and smokers outside bar can be a bit noisy but overall great value with the 50% off offer in Jan. Staff great to, no hesitation in recommending.

Please accept our thanks for your feedback & comments on breakfast - we often have people telling us how much they enjoyed this!
We understand a lot of our Totnes locals are quite spirited but as a friendly local venue we try to ensure everyone feels welcome here...
Many thanks for your recommendation, and we hope to welcome you back soon.

We stayed as a family for one night only this weekend. It would have been nice to stay for longer. From the minute we checked in slightly early we were made to feel very welcome. Our rooms were lovely, cozy and very quiet. We loved the variety of bars - something for everyone - the sports bar showing the rugby world cup, the champagne bar and the general bar.

We ate twice in the main bar and we all enjoyed our food. It probably wasn't the cheapest in Totnes but we were very happy with the quality and value for money. It was a bit of a grotty February day but it was very warm in the bar, with a lovely log fire, and a nice place to escape from storm Doris. It is a well stocked bar with a nice selection of gins. There was a function on upstairs that night, however, the staff were still all very friendly and efficient.

It was our first visit and hopefully it won't be our last
