1st-4th Mar 2012. My wife and I spent 3 nights at the Hermitage last week. We often spend time at well rated hotels, and the Hermitage is up there with the best. The service, and in particular the attitude of the staff was exemplary. Good examples being the night porter and
deputy Manager, who could not do enough to please. The food was superbly cooked with a balanced choice served in a well decorated period dining room. The bedroom was extremely good, well furnished, but perhaps a little small, however we had a marvellous sea view. Overall we had an excellent stay and will be going back.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view

I recently arranged a group weekend of friends and their friends (93 people) to go to the Hermitage Hotel for a celebration weekend. This group comprised of children, young adult, adults and very mature adults. I was catering for all ages. Throughout all my arranging over the months prior to the weekend I had excellent help from Maria the asst manager who made sure I got what I needed, when I needed it and to suit all that were coming. She was helping and guided me to make sure the weekend was memorable. The hotel is perfectly situated right near the beach and the Peer. It overlooks the beach. It is also next to the flower gardens and Pavillion and a short walkway into town which is five minutes away. This meant that we arrived on the Friday and did not have to drive anywhere until the Sunday. All walking was easy especially for my mature friends. The hotel is continually re-decorating over the year so that all the room are of a very high standard. The hotel staff especially Maria and Charles the maitre de are very friendly and helpful and actually enhance the weekend. We had a meal and then a disco on the Friday with a reception, 6 course meal and a band (fantastic) on the Saturday. This is now my sixth year coming to this hotel at this time of year and we have already booked for next year. It is so good that many who came this year have come the last few years and have said to show them coming next year as well. I am a firm believer of trip adviser and use it regulary both here in the UK and abroad, especially in the USA and Canada. I cannot highly recommend this hotel enough for its staff, friendliness, location, especially the food and how they each year make our weekend a great success. I would unhesitatingly recommend this hotel

Excellent location for the BIC for shows, and for town, the gardens and of course the lovely beach.
Overall the hotel was excellent - from the staff, the general presentation, cleaniness, food, service, and as stated above, location.
The staff were courteous, polite, friendly and efficient - no mean feat to combine al the qualities
and not make it seem contrived or false.
The evening meal that my wife and I had was a shear delight.
I would have no hesitation whatsoever in returning in the future - and would definitely choose this hotel whenever I wanted to stay in Bournemouth.

Stayed here recently with my wife. Hotel was in an excellent position for the pier and beach, but a bit cold for a dip. All the staff were extremely helpful and very polite. nothing was too much trouble to any of them. Especially hotel asssisitant manger (110%)who was standing in for restaurant mangaer who was on holiday. Room was spotless, quiet and very large considering we only booked a standard twin room. We ate in one night and food was very good. Would certainly book here again

I stayed in the hotel for one night for a weekend break with my daughter in early March. The hotel is in a perfect location, next to the gardens which provide a delightful short walk to the centre and next door to the Pavilion and opposite the beach and the pier. We had a suite with views across to the sea and a lovely shower room and dressing room. The evening meal was exceptional and coffee and drinks in the bar were very reasonably priced and served in the very comfortable lounge area. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, all rooms were clean, warm and comfortable. The only negative for us was the buffet breakfast which could have been fresher and hotter, but otherwise the whole experience was exceptional value for money.
