I had booked just the one night so in fairness and on balance the cost I paid was excellent value. My room was clean and the bed comfortable. As a contractor who refurbishes such establishments, I thought they had wasted a great opportunity in the bedroom design, but my sloping wardrobe brought a smile to my face. The bar and reception area is nicely done. It is an old building so you need to give some allowance but I still failed to see why some attempt on the acoustics had not been made. Listening to other rooms bathroom movements was not really acceptable. Even worst was listening to the room above mine enjoying their brand of music until 1am and then walking around and talking loudly. My patience ran out around 3am prompting me to contact reception to complain. The typed welcoming notes highlighted the poor reception of the Wi-Fi system, even suggesting you might want to try your devices in the bar/reception area. I did and it was as non existent as it was in my room. I did not order breakfast which was a decision made because they did not offer any food in the evening, so I expected they did not employ a proper chef. Overall if I was staying for a night I would not hesitate, but for longer then i would book elsewhere.

I'm glad to hear that you think we offer great value for money, and that you have also enjoyed your room cleanliness and the quality of the bed.
It's important to mentioned that we are working in some refurbishments around the hotel as we understand a property like ours is in constant need of some TLC.
We are sorry that you could not connect to the Wi-fi, please next time make sure you inform reception so we can try and fix that for you while you are still on the property.

Had an absolutely amazing stay at the Kings Hotel! Would absolutely recommend it to family and friends!! Will definitely come back to visit again!! Staff were very friendly and attentive:)
Very clean and had a lot is supplies!
View was perfect and the bed was super comfy!!!!!

Stayed for one night. Staff pleasant enough. Room pretty basic. Could do with a bottle of water in the room. Bathroom was clean at first but floor was very wet which we presumed had only just been cleaned before we were given the key. Very odd as when we popped out briefly and then returned the floor was dry but there was a false eyelash in the sink - staff member was obviously missing this. My partner didn’t want to complain as didn’t want to spoil our very rare night away.
Breakfast is quite basic and we did have to chase up staff to get served.
It’s ok if it’s a short visit.

Overall the place is dirty overpriced and very dated I would not recommend this to anybody looking for a place to stay. Mouldy bathroom tiles broken 70’s furniture not been hovered dust and cobwebs cracks in ceiling and walls

I appreciate you taking your time to write a review of your stay. We believe all reviews can be helpful and we do think people should honestly write what their experience has been to help other travellers but also to help us address our shortcomings.

I'm sorry to hear on this occasion your expectations were not met and you did not enjoy the hotel and your experience with us overall.
We do recognise that is a old building as many properties in Brighton are, but I can assure you that the rooms are renovated on a yearly basis and that we take the hotel cleanliness very serious as you can see on many of the other reviews we have received here.

We hope you come to Brighton in the future and manage to find accommodation that suits your needs better while you are here.

Have stayed here many times and will again. Always great service, Jaime is brilliant. All staff professional and helpful. Clean rooms comfortable beds, great views. Tend not to have breakfast though as bread and other ingredients not great quality unfortunately. Breakfast staff are lovely also. Great location. Thank you.

We stay at The Kings Hotel on a regular basis, and it never disappoints. We had a lovely sea view room, which was kept nice and warm ( it was freezing outside!), a delicious breakfast, and the usual friendly welcome from the lovely staff - many of whom we have now got to know over the years. The hotel is close enough to make the short walk 10-15 mins) into Brighton centre, but far away enough to not be disturbed by any late night revellers. This has always been our first choice hotel in Brighton, and I certainly can’t see that changing any time soon. Great value for money, and highly recommended.
