Quirky property - exceptionally clean.
The English breakfast was one of the best we've ever had, and the menu was varied with lots of options that you generally wouldn't expect in a B&B.
The bed was very comfortable and the room had everything you would expect of a good hotel.
And front of course, James was brilliant. Very hospitable and the right amount of interaction.
Faultless.

We stayed for my birthday weekend in February in one of the suites (in the basement) with it’s own entrance.
The suite was lovely and had everything we needed. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. We both enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend!
Also my husband left his AirPods behind when we left and they found them and posted them to us which was really appreciated!

After a tough couple of months we wanted a short break and I picked this hotel based on the reviews and we were not disappointed.
A great location only about 5 minutes walk along the front to Old Steine, or a couple of minutes to St James Street where there are some great eateries and lots of small shops. Our room was lovely, tea and coffee making facilities and a small fridge with complimentary water and proper milk for our tea, There is a coffee making machine - no instructions but I have no doubt any of the staff would help. We were a bit early but our room was ready and we were able to go in. Super comfy bed, windows that actually open, lovely and quiet and lots of hot water. Our room number was 22. The staff were lovely, James & Marcus served us at breakfast (not to be missed under any circumstances) and also the young lady who checked us in whose name I didn't get (sorry) and everybody kind and helpful.
If you have mobility issues I would ring and make them aware, there is no lift and once James knew I wasn't great with stairs he moved us to a first floor room. There were 10 stairs to the landing & another 4 to the room, manageable for me
I would really reccommend this hotel and would certainly stay here again

The Square townhouse is superbly situated right by the seafront in Kemptown. It’s about a 5 minute walk from the pier and all the incredible Brighton attractions. The hotel is spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The thing that really makes the stay 5 star though is the staff. The front of house team (James, Christina and Marcus) are outstanding! Kind, helpful, knowledgeable and funny, they make the stay fabulous and we will be booking again!!

We've visited Brighton a few times and stayed in other hotels and this hotel is the best in Brighton. Infact i would say this is one of the best places we've ever stayed. It was absolutely immaculate, so clean making me feel extra comfortable as i am obsessed with germs!! I have no negative comments or any suggestions to write as everything has been thought about, even down to the extra vanity mirror in the room. Which was so handy for getting ready and finding that perfect lighting for applying makeup. Thankyou for making a much needed break away from being Mum and Dad the most lovely experience.
We can't wait to come back.
