3 night stay as part of post-New Year deal at great boutique style hotel in central Brighton. The Lanes, sea front, pier, BA Tower and interesting local spots such as Kemptown are a stones throw away. The room was suitably 'boutique' in decor - dark and small. Serious lack of lighting for reading etc. First ever hotel experience where the bed was only 6 ft long so beware you tall folks. Nice touches are Nespresso coffee machine, DVD/CD player etc. Why do modern hotels have no drawers for items - particularly if staying more than one night?
A main feature of Hotel du Vin is the quality of the staff - from reception (Marta) through to bar and restaurant teams. Special mention for Agnes and her team in the breakfast room - she is one of the best at getting everything right from first greeting to service.
Evening dinner is a quality experience although tables are a bit cheek by jowl. Quality service each evening from Natalya and from Head Sommelier Robin Roux who is outstanding and ensures the wine choice is perfect with his knowledge, Gallic humour and charm. Top man!
Altogether a great venue for a break away from it all or special occasion with lots of recreational options on the doorstep - or failing that, the 24 hour Bar!More
