We booked as a party of 4 on Saturday lunchtime.
The room is small and intimate.
We were offered water while we decided on food and drink.
English (camel Valley) champagne was delightful.
Starters arrived and consumed to ooohs and aaarhs - delightful presentation and fabulous food. With just perfect time interval the main courses were served. Again super presentation and each element making up such a balanced plate of food . We did elect to have 2 portions of the triple cooked chips with truffle not necessary but utterly delicious.. yes we love our food and had desserts then petit fours and coffee which rounded off a wonderful dining experience.nothing was too much trouble for the knowledgeable delightful staff- only negative is that it is 2.5 hours away. But well worth the drive. Just sublime

We ate at Purslane yesterday and we're delighted to have been able to secure a table, very last minute. The food was, as ever, fresh, delicious and unusual as were the wines - try the Camel Brut sparkling and French Sauvignon. Fabulous.

Absolutely wonderful meal. The fish dishes are superb. The staff are so helpful and explain the menu well. THe amount of food is such that there is definitely room for a dessert but then the deserts are to die for! Fine dining par excellence, Advisable to book in advance though. It is a small restaurant that concentrates more on the presentation and quality of food than creating an atmosphere for a night out. Good central location.

I took my wife back to the restaurant we had been to at the end of June.

The ambience was very peasant as before but we were seated by a table with the window open and the external smoking area is adjacent so we had the smell of smoke whafting in.
The menu is changed regularly and is always mouth wateringly creative.
Our starters were beautifully cooked and presented and the beef Wagyu was most enjoyable.
The serving staff of 2 lovely ladies were very stretched and were not as attentive as on our earlier visit which was a shame.
Nevertheless a lovely experience and treat for my wife for our wedding anniversary.

Thank Chris D

We were staying in the Cotswolds and wanted a different dining experience The purslane was everything the best reviews promised. Our table for two was in a side area with other mall tables away from the larger tables with their high volume conversation. Our meal was delicious,a starter of scallops followed by the sole. The service was first class, pleasant and professional. overall a very good dining experience
