Sometimes, you dream up the most amazing Sunday roast in your head, but you don't want to buy, prep and cook it. You can almost smell it, see the textures and taste the flavours! You start to obsess and so you set about choosing your restaurant, all rather last minute. Then, it never quite hits the mark.
Today was different. It was everything we could dream up and that little bit more. Absolutely beautifully roasted beef! The vegetables were cooked and seasoned to perfection and we can't recommend this restaurant enough if you're like us, capable of dreaming up that perfect roast but not capable or willing to cook it. Sunday is the day of rest and today this restaurant made it the best ;-)

Came here for a birthday lunch. Had confit duck leg to start, soft herb potato cake for main and poached strawberries for dessert. All absolutely delicious and great service.

Of all the places to pick what a result, if in Cheltenham seek The White Spoon out they knocked Sunday lunch out of the park.

Admittedly it is tucked away opposite the Church but our apartment was a stones throw away so the location was perfect.

Quite a varied menu for a Sunday lunch I wish our local eatery would take notice!! We had thigh of chicken with crispy chicken skin to start this was delicious. The granola and olives set the dish off some unusual combinations but they really worked.

For mains we had the Sirloin and Pork, the Spirl was possibly the best I have sampled but the star of the show was the vegetables - the Swede was worth the 3 hour trip alone simply stunning.

A cracking Greek white rejuvenated our love for Viognier and that was a job well done. Wouldn't hesitate to return.

A special mention must go to the chef the seasoning of the food was spot on and the service equally as good - go here!!

I don't want to negative, we enjoyed our evening at the white spoon, but there was something missing. Situated at end of a side street - from a certain perspective it seems closed. However, the frontage and interior are classically modern.

Staff were engaging, knowledgable and provided a good service. The menu was small but interesting and the food produced was visually stunning and delicious. My partners crab entree, a thing of beauty.

I think the issue may have been around the mains - the fish was just cooked, and did leave a question as to send it back or carry on and we plopped for the later, but I think this impinged on overall perceptions - desserts, very cheeky well done.

Thank Will E

Firstly thank you for taking the time to review our restaurant.

With regard to your fish, Chris (The Chef & Co-Owner) works hard to ensure that all fish is cooked to the optimum temperature to ensure it is never overcooked. Although if the temperature to which it reached you wasn’t to your liking we do encourage customers to let us know by checking back to ensure everything is of with your meals. We would have been happy to have cooked it through a little more for you had we known.

We are pleased to hear that overall you enjoyed your evening. However, disappointed to hear that you felt there was something missing, especially as you have commended both the food and the service. We are always looking to improve and would be delighted to hear from you further on this, please feel free to contact our general manager to discuss.

We do hope that you will return to eat with us again soon, as we would love the chance to turn that 4 to a 5 star review.
