The hotel is well located in the heart of Canterbury. Easy access for taxis from the side entrance. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful. Ditto the restaurant staff. Food excellent. There is a nice casual seating area around Reception with waiter service from the bar. Staying on my own, it felt very safe and comfortable to be in the hotel with a managed reception desk and staff on hand. Would recommend.More

Great central location for shops, historical buildings and restaurants. It also has a small car park at the rear. I had a double room on the 2nd floor which was clean, not much of a view but didn't matter as I was only there for one night for work. The room was a decent size and had all the usual requirements. There were chargeable snacks on the desk for convenience, but one could just pop next door to the supermarket for better value. The bed was comfortable and I had a decent night's sleep.
The cooked breakfast was lovely but the portions were quite small (why serve half of a mushroom?). I also expected an extra sausage or maybe a whole mushroom to replace the other items I didn't want. My colleague ordered the fresh fruit which was such a miniscule portion that he had to tilt the bowl so I could see the contents.
Overall, it's a nice quiet hotel and the staff were friendly and professional so I would definitely stay there again.

Revisited our favourite hotel to celebrate my wife’s birthday & as always had a lovely stay.
