University Of Kent - Turing College
Ranked #42 of 73 Canterbury B&B and Inns
Reviewed 29 July 2015

Located in the Turing College the rooms were tidy and comfortably furnished - everything seemed to be quite new. It wasn't cosy but functional and on the same hallway there was also a large communal kitchen one could have used.

The college is about 30 minutes walk from the centre but buses do run though the way back was a little strange as no bus ran when it should have - we took a taxi instead and that came to about 9 GBP.

The people in reception were friendly and helpful the view of the Cathedral from the reception exceptional.

One smal drawback the coffe making facilities were not replenished on the second day.

Room Tip: Best view is out the back of the building as you might have a view of the Cathedral from your room.

We stayed at the brand new Turing College. Excellent room with TV, fast WiFi, nice bathroom and bag of toiletries. Good evening meals at the Gulbenkian theatre on site. Breakfast in one of the college dining rooms plentiful but not the best we've had.
Easy 30 minute walk down into Canterbury to see the town and cathedral - and a frequent bus service back up the hill. Short journies to local places of interest such as Dover Castle, Walmer Castle, Leeds Castle and the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway

The accommodation and dining at Kent is by no means classy but what it lacks in that area it makes up for in convenience. Being so near to the conference facilities was undoubtedly a big draw as the campus is situated at some distance from the centre of town. Unfortunately that meant limited options for eating out without walking for about 30mins into town. By the end of a long day of speeches and conference food however, this long walk was appreciated!

Stayed one night at the Beverley Farm House and very pleased I did. Got a very good deal, which included breakfast. Quite a simple double room with a shared shower room and kitchen between four rooms.
Good location as well with a bus stop almost right outside of the door.
If you need a simple and cost effective place to stay, can completely recommend the university accommodation during the holidays.

Turing college is where I stayed with granddaughter. Excellent accommodation, better than many chain hotel rooms. I would highly recommend this place. Rooms are excellent. Breakfast is a,so very good. The comfort and facilities beat many chain hotels and the bathroom and shower fine
