We booked 2 rooms one flat and one single room.
Room has no ventilation and we feel suffocate, internet is very poor that I can’t use my laptop, I need to come downstairs to use my laptop.
Breakfast is full oily and it’s not worthy to pay, they just put everything on oil and bring food. Mushroom, sausages looks burned and I complained that it’s burned nobody replied.
Please don’t stay here as room, attitude of restaurant staffs are very bad, don’t respect and they staring us all the time and I dont know why.
Never going at all

Room tip: Not enough parking, west breakfast and very poor internet

Dear Guest,

I was sorry to read of the issues you encountered over your stay. I note that you were booked into our Burgate House annexe bedrooms. The rooms do all have sash windows that can be fully opened to increase ventilation. In addition, all the radiators can be individually controlled to increase, or reduce, heat in the bedrooms.

I have checked the WiFi connections in this building. We have not encountered any outages, and the speed was good on the devices I tried. I am sorry if you had difficulty over your stay.

I was concerned to read your feedback regarding breakfast, as we make every effort to make this as enjoyable as possible. We do cook each breakfast to order, and avoid the use of a buffet to prevent oily or cold food. I am very sorry we did not reach our usual high standards on this occasion.

Should you need to return to Canterbury, please do not hesitate to contact me, so I can oversee your stay personally.

Kind regards

Richard Moppett

The lodge was very nice on arrival. Stunning location. The guest services were great. The breakfast was lovely and the view of the cathedral amazing from our room. Only disappointment was the size of the double bed, the length was tiny and our feet hung off the bed, being I'm only 5'2 it was not as relaxing. The shower leaked so the pressure was not great. Still some work needed, but in all a nice place to stay.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I am sorry that our standard sized double bed was not to your preference. We are able to make up our twins as superking doubles, upon request. Please do let us know you would prefer this if you book again with us.

I am sorry that the shower affected your stay, this has now been repaired.

I do hope we can welcome you back in the future.

Kind regards

Such a treat to stay here, within the Cathedral grounds, and so be able to wander around outside it in the peace of the evening and early morning. The hotel is like an upmarket Premier Inn, simple and comfortable, but the staff are exceptional, many thoughtful extras (eg self-service bottles of different types of water for your room), fabulous breakfast and unique view of the cathedral from the bedroom. Amazing experience (plus the theatre is nearby and fantastic too)

We went to the Black Tie dinner at The Cathedral Lodge for NYE.

Fortunately for us, we were seated at a table with 4 other couples. Little did we know how well the 10 of us would gel. Just brilliant

Its fair to say it was a really excellent night, food, entertainment, bag pipes before we got under way & then again at midnight. whats not to like.

As they say, you only get one chance to make a first impression. In that regard, the welcome we had from Carol & Rachel in Reception along with Danielle in the Events team was just excellent.

Thanks go to the whole team.

A great evening with great staff

Thanks

Along with the majority of other reviews I cannot recommend the lodge highly enough. The location is fantastic, just yards from the cathedral. Our room overlooked it. The cobbled streets of Canterbury are just the other side of the gates. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The rooms, while basic, were comfortable, clean and had everything you need. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choices. Thoroughly recommended and will come again. Thank you!
