Farrah was very accommodating and provided us with a lovely room and was extremely helpful. Even lent us her English to American convertor for our gear. Lots of steps and a bit steep but thats what an authentic Dover B&B will have. Short walk to shopping, lovely pier and restaurants. Will stay here again next year.

Arrived 9pm Friday evening to a nice welcome, lovely guesthouse, maps, castle and cliff walks explained we got our keys to the room, we had the Georgian room with a 4 poster bed and a modern bathroom ,perfect .still had time to pop to the local The white Horse for a gin or two. Breakfast was continental all the usual dishes and lovely coffee and to round it off we had a channel swimmer and his team on the next table,he had completed it in a amazing 10hours Congratulations Sir . Definitely recommend straying here for visiting the castle and walking the white cliffs 10/10

We stayed one night but we loved this little guest house. The Georgian room is spacious and well equipped. It looked exactly like the photos on the website and is on the first floor. Like most old english homes there are no lifts so suggest you pack a small bag to take with you whilst you stay there and leave your suitcase in the car which is just parked out the front.

The hotel is well located for a walk into Dover and is just down the road from Dover castle.

Breakfast was simple but lovely with fresh croissants straight out of the oven, buns, cheese, ham, cereal and yoghurt.

We rally enjoyed our stay here and found our host very knowledgeable and friendly

I think one of the earlier reviews of this B&B summarized it well: "a typical B&B with some of the plusses but all the minuses." I don't know how it managed 4+ stars here and on Booking.com.

We arrived in the late afternoon and were greeted by a business like woman who checked us in, took payment and explained the rules...door locks, lights, breakfast, etc.

The building is older with steep stairs rising from the street/(small) car park. Additionally, there is no lift and the interior stairs are steep and narrow. Anything other than a small sized carry on bag is difficult to take up, especially to our third floor room. No help with luggage was offered by staff.

Our room was akin to the guest room in grandma's attic. The WC was so small that it had a miniature sink to leave enough room to get into the shower stall that itself was the size of a small phone booth. Also, annoyingly, the light in the bathroom was on a timer that activated on entry, but only stayed on for a very short time. Not long enough to shower, brush teeth or perform any other necessary business. And as there are no windows in the bathroom, pitch black settles in as you fumble for..... whatever.

Breakfast in the morning was fresh and served in a pleasant ground floor room. It was the only highlight of our stay.

Location is good but value is poor. We will not return to Hubert House.
