Just back from a first night at Randy Pike (taking advantage of our daughter being away with school for a few days!) with high expectations met in full. From Chrissy's lovely welcome as soon as we pulled up to the friendly departure next morning, everything was perfect. The muffins (on arrival AND for breakfast!) and the granola trifle are to die for. Our room, Vallelay, was immense and all you really need to do is lie on the bed and listen to Andy's 2000+ ipod song collection on shuffle to immediately feel relaxed. It's the little touches that make these places special - like the rubber duck and the inviting breakfast menu. If relaxation in the Lakes, before or after a long walk, is what you're looking for, this is the only place you should consider. And book into the Jumble Room (also owned by Chrissy & Andy) in the evening. You won't regret that decision either.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay in the Dawson Suite and I cannot put into words a review to do the Randy Pike justice. We have stayed in many beautiful hotels in the Lake District over the last 5 years but the Randy Pike tops the lot. The rooms was luxorious, beautiful and furnished to the highest standard. The bed was HUGE and incredibly comfortable. The bathroom was amazing and had such a romantic feel to it. The breakfast was the best I have ate in my 30 years. Andy and Chrissy (the owners) are such genuine, lovely people, we felt like we was staying with family/friends. They made us feel so welcome. When you visit make sure you visit the Jumble Rooms restaurant owned by Andy & Chrissy. The food was to die for and the staff were all lovely. We cannot wait to stay again and are already planning our next visit.

We chose the Randy Pike for my husband's 60th birthday treat and I'm sure we couldn't have made a better decision. This B&B exceeds all expectations, from the fabulously comfortable enormous bed to my favourite Susie Watson china, the rooms are decorated and furnished with breathtaking style. We didn't get to meet the owners who were having their own holiday but we couldn't have been better cared for by the two girls on their staff who were left in charge. The breakfasts were very generous and with very tasty local produce. Don't miss the berry trifle, and the home made chocolate chip muffins are good enough reason to bring us back again. Forget the big old hotels in The Lakes, I've stayed in some of them but they can't hold a candle to the Randy Pike. Stay here and you won't be disappointed.

What a wonderful place. You won't regret booking this little gem.

Nothing was too much trouble for the owners. We had a walk to the nearby Drunken Duck pub and Andy (one of the owners) gave us a lift back in his Land Rover. The snow was about 4 feet deep. Our Evoque would have only just made it through. Thanks Andy :-).

I had booked the Martindale Suite for three nights over New Years, and despite having seen the photos on the website lots of times in the run-up to the break, I was absolutely delighted by the beautiful design of Randy Pike! Every little thing is thought off, from the selection of drinks in the room, the choice of relaxing music on the ipod, information on various places to walk to from the door to an inspiring selection of reading material about local food producers etc.

Staying at Randy Pike meant we were lucky enough to get a table in the Jumble Rooms for a meal on New Year's Eve, with the added service of being driven there and back by the lovely Chrissy and Andy. This is a great service to be offered any time of year, but on New Year's Eve, it was a proper wow!

We love the breakfast choices at Randy Pike, which gets served in the room. Again, a great service, and the food is beautifully presented and tastes fantastic. Can't wait to book another hide-away stay
