Sixteen of us decided late on Saturday to go out for lunch together and really struggled to find somewhere to accommodate us. We stumbled by accident on the Crooklands Hotel advertised in a booklet at the hostel we were staying at. Our initial contact by phone was handled very efficiently by Maxine (who clearly thought I was mad ringing up so late to book a table but in a nice way!), she immediately agreed with the restaurant manager how to accommodate us and within minutes emailed me a menu so that we could pre-order. I sent our orders back and this was quickly acknowledged by Vivek the manager.
On arrival we were greeted in a nice friendly manner and offered the option of drinks at the bar or at our table. We opted for drinks at the table and our order was quickly taken and delivered along with the requested jugs of water. Food arrived promptly (thanks to the pre-ordering) and was hot and tasty, my steak and ale pie was particularly tasty but everyone's meal looked lovely (although the Turkey roast dinner didn't come with a yorkshire pudding which would have disappointed me!) desserts were tasty and the pavlova looked particularly luscious. We paid £14.95 for two courses which was really good value. Overall the staff were lovely, the food was tasty and ample portions which were presented well (especially the deserts) and we would definitely return.More
