Big 5 smoothie was delicious, pancake stack with bacon and maple syrup was fantastic. The bacon here is thick cut back bacon cooked so that it is very crispy. The shop itself is a bit quirky but this adds to the charm. Mid afternoon in the peak season the WC looked pristine, they also brought my dog his own bowl of water. Staff appeared well trained, friendly and keen to please. Thank you, we will come again.

We stopped here for lunch on our visit to Keswick. The service was friendly if a little haphazard. The menu is a little grimy and low contrast i.e. Hard to read in the gloom of the restaurant. There are lots of interesting options, which could be presented better. I had the Cumbrian rarebit, which was very tasty.

Popped into The Wild Strawberry as we were early to collect our keys for our Cottage in Keswick. Lovely little quirky Coffee Shop with a lovely range of cakes and scones

Popped in for lunch today with my wife and child. We ordered three simple dishes and a coffee. The coffee came and was great. 35 minutes later they managed to bring a toastie and an all day breakfast. The food was fine if not particularly hot. Ten minutes later - a full 45 minutes after ordering - my four year old's beans on toast arrived.45 minutes to produce one slice of toast and a quarter of a can of beans? Seriously?! We weren't charged for the beans on toast, but that's hardly the point. There was someone else at the till paying ahead of me and she'd also been waiting ages and had given up. A shame really because it could've been really good.
