My husband and I have just returned from a week stay. We had room 2 which comes with its own lounge. Absolutely beautiful accommodation. The room was all you want for a long stay. breakfast was a good range of choices. Loved the homemade yoghurt with apricots (I would usually not like either). Hosts were really relaxed and helpful, Shirley makes lovely eggs with soldiers! Would recommend and stay here again without hesitation. I did cheekily have a nose in the other rooms when they were empty......equally nice....(apologies to Vince and Shirley;-)

Room Tip: Roome 1 or 2

A huge thankyou for taking the time to write a review, and offer a "room tip". We were very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your week with us - the Jacobean four poster is ideal for a long stay, with the adjoining sitting room to relax in at the end of the day...
Glad you enjoyed the homemade yoghurt and apricot compote - the eggs are free range from a local farm and you can really taste the difference!

No need to apologise for looking around the other rooms - we leave the doors open for guests to see what the rooms are like and we're happy you had a look round.

In the current economic climate, it was really good to know that you classed us as "affordable luxury" and we hope this will encourage new guests to have a look at our website and book direct - all the rooms are photographed there, and having been awarded a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for three consecutive years, we're keen to ensure we come up to expectations!

Hope to welcome you both back again in the future.

We have just spent a night along with friends at Storrs Gate House en route back home to the Midlands from a holiday in Scotland. I found Storrs Gate via Laterooms.com on the Internet and the benefit was that there were photographs of each room online so that you could see exactly what was on offer before you book. We only booked on the morning of the night required but were met with a very pleasant welcome by first name on arrival around 4pm by Shirley and Vince and were made to feel very welcome. We had a short but very comfortable stay with everything we could have needed. Breakfast was lovely with a good selection, presented and cooked well in the lovely dining room overlooking a very pretty garden. A lovely house located just a short walk from the centre of Bowness on Windermere along the lakeside. We would certainly stay there again in the future.

We're very pleased you enjoyed your brief stay with us, and that you were so comfortable in our Tudor and Jacobean four poster rooms. It was nice to hear you enjoyed your breakfast in our airy dining room which does have lovely views of our gardens as you say. We're delighted that you would choose to stay with us again and look forward to welcoming you back again. Thanks again for choosing us.

My elderly mother and I spent 3 nights at Storrs Gate House sharing the downstairs twin room. We were looked after exceptionally well throughout our stay by Shirley and Vince who have created a fabulous B and B. The bedroom and bathroom were extremely high quality, exceptionally clean with the most comfortable beds. The breakfast menu offers a great choice of starters and mains and all perfectly cooked to order. An excellent place to stay.

Room Tip: The downstairs twin room with the separate ramp access is ideal for anyone with mobility difficulties.

Many thanks for your kind review. You and your mum were a pleasure to look after. We were delighted to read you found your room so comfortable and clean, and of high quality. Room 6 is a popular room, being on ground level with easy access should it be needed and can be set up as twin beds, or as a superking.

It was good to know too that you enjoyed the choices at breakfast, and that you regard us as being an excellent place to stay. We hope to welcome you both back in the future.

My wife and I spent 3 nights at Storrs Gate House and we are looking forward to going back again. We were in room two which was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by Vince and Shirley. For a B&B the breakfast selection was excellent and Shirley's full English was piping hot and delicious. There was plenty of room for parking so the car could be left their throughout our stay. The location meant that it was only a short scenic walk into Bowness where there were plenty of good restaurants to choose from.

It was really good to hear that we met your expectations and you enjoyed your stay with us so much. Our Jacobean four poster suite is a popular room, especially because of the adjoining sitting room with comfy armchairs to relax in at the end of the day. Thanks for your comments regarding breakfast - we do offer a good selection, with home-made and locally sourced produce. We're delighted to hear you intend to return and also that you thought our location is good, being only a short walk to Bowness with its variety of restaurants and shops, not forgetting the wonderful lake cruises.

We have just come back from a three night stay and I already want to go back. The little things make a difference and everything has been thought out to make a visit perfect. The rooms are immaculate, the bathroom was top quality and especially liked the luxury of a carpet in the bathroom! Vince and Shirley were friendly and very helpful, we liked the fact that we knew they were in the background if we needed anything. I can not praise this establishment enough and I am sure they are very proud of the wonderful place they have.
