This was our 3rd visit to The Hillthwaite and this time we spoiled ourselves for our Mini-Moon and booked a beautiful room with views over Windermere from the balcony! Just what we wanted a room we could relax in before an evening meal in the restaurant then back again to totally chill after a hectic wedding week!
Room 15 was lovely only fault I couldn't get the TV in the bathroom to work but this didn't spoil anything. Evening meal and breakfast were lovely with the Eggs Benedict to die for! The staff could not be more attentitive if they tried!
Already looking to book for next year!

Stayed here for one night on the winter deal myself husband and daughter. What a beautiful hotel the decor is stunning the views amazing the food in the dining room a real treat. Loved the swimming pool and the fact we had to book and have it to ourselves was a real bonus. Included in the deal mulled wine and mince pies not a fan of mulled wine but kindly it was swapped for a glass of white wine the mine pies melted in your mouth. We will definitely return thank you for a wonderful stay

The hotel is beautifully furnished and decorated and the views from the dining hall, lounges and veranda are stunning.

The staff are efficient and professional.

The room garden room was small but clean and some nice touches including: biscuits and shampoo etc. This room did not have a view, cars were parked outside so we had to close the curtains for privacy.

We were given a table away from other people, in the dining room, for breakfast. This table had a fantastic outlook so thank you to the staff( it was my first visit to a restaurant since lock-down and I was nervous).

We had been looking forward to breakfast, since our last visit and our cooked breakfast was really overdone and the mini- pots of jam and marmalade had already been used and not replenished so I was really disappointed.

We also could not rebook a Friday or Saturday only midweek or Sunday, which wasn't suitable due to work commitments. We could not rebook during peak time.

A group of friends and I had afternoon tea at the Hillthwaite a few weeks ago and it was fanstastic.

I have had afternoon tea at most Hotels and cafes in the area and this one ranked among the best, with delicious freshly baked warm scones and cakes, syllabub etc.

Due to the location in the middle of town I was not expecting a good view, but as the hotel is situated up a hill, the view from our table at the end of the ground floor dining room was lovely, with the lake in the distance.

The whole hotel was beautifully & tastefully decorated, modern but comfortable.

The service was also fantastic. I will certainly be recommending a visit to others.

We visited Hillthwaite today for afternoon tea and can highly recommend it. Staff were super friendly and accommodating of our needy dog! Afternoon tea was a delight, super fresh and plenty of sweet treats! We would definitely visit bags in.
