This is a real gem. Excellent facilities, friendly staff, various options for meals and some good deals. It is set amid park land and there are several beautiful walks on the door step.
The hotel is situated across the road from Stanley Park which has a boating lake, childrens' playground, skateboarding park, formal gardens and big open spaces not to mention an Art Deco cafe with good coffee and cake!
It is also next to the zoo and a couple of miles from the beach so you have lots of options within a small area.
I stayed there whilst a rewrite was in hospital. The staff were kind, friendly and helpful. They did all they could to make a difficult time an easier one.

Room Tip: Upgrades are available -ask at the reception

We stayed two nights bed and breakfast with leisure for a total of £99 very good value. The queue at reception was quite long, eight to check in in front of us. It was the hottest day of the year so was a delight to use the outdoor pool. The bed was comfy but the bathroom was a bit on the small side. James at Starbucks was excellent. The breakfast was ok hated the tablecloth. the walk through Stanley park was nice to Blackpool we like walking so pleased with the hotel location. Overall for the price we paid we couldn't complain, the Marriott rate for one night was £149 which is where we were going to stay but at the last minute got a promotional email offering the above deal so these offers work.

I am a member of the gym at this hotel and know it well. I received vouchers for introducing a new member to the gym and I decided to treat myself and my friend to b and b using the vouchers.

Although I know the hotel well I have never stayed there as I only live half a mile away but I thought it would be nice to have a lovely hotel stay. I had major difficulties actually booking a room using the voucher and had to try about 4 times either on line or by phone! In addition there was hardly any availability for this offer. This was very frustrating and in the end a manager had to intervene to sort out the problems which were partly due to their computer system constantly crashing and partly down to a lack of staff to take phone calls! Their computer system also took 2 payments for the one room booking! I finally managed to book the room and was given a £10 credit as an apology.

My friend and I booked in on Friday and soon realized the £10 credit had not been added to the booking! This resulted in more frustration and delay and took the shine off the event somewhat. When we finally got in our so called upgraded room it was quite disappointing actually. The grouting in the bathroom needs redoing and looks scruffy as do the windows that have seen better days and need work. It was also a very hot night and we could not open the window more than a few inches so slowly cooked in there as there was no air conditioning.

We couldn't leave the windows open long as the room is immediately over the front door and there were some very very noisy guests who shouted and screamed and slammed doors til the early morning. I would have expected the reception staff to remind them to keep the noise down and respect other guest trying to sleep but they didn't. They must have been able to hear the guests as the reception and front door are very close together.

On a positive note I did enjoy sitting outside around the outdoor pool and it almost felt like being abroad on holiday. The only thing missing was somewhere nearby to buy food or drink. Would the hotel consider providing this facility during the summer? The food was pretty good with a good choice of breakfast and a lovely evening meal in the main restaurant.

Room Tip: Don't stay above the front door or over the pub! If you want a quiet night ask if there are any big weddings planned as the noisy guests were from a wedding party.

Lovely building as you enter reception area. Good warm welcome. The only problem was having to wait over 30 minutes to get into room ,as no rooms ready . The meal in the restaurant very good with excellent service from our waitress. Breakfast was buffet
and very nice.

Room Tip: get an upper class room. You will get into room earlier
