First ever visit to Lincoln. Really impressed by the hotel and the city despite some rain. The restaurant on the top floor was great for breakfast and also for an evening meal (we went for a a great value set menu offer on the 1st night). The warm cookie on arrival was a nice touch and the room was clean and efficient with all the facilities you could need. The step-up into the bath for a shower was high and it is surely only a matter of time before they put some non-slip bath mats into each room. We like visiting historic cities but also like the advantages of a modern hotel. The DoubleTree was perfect. You could walk into historic Lincoln and spend the day doing the tourist sights before coming back down the hill to the hotel. Cinema and chain restaurants just next door as well. Limited car park spaces at the hotel but we just went to the nearby multi-storey, downloaded the pay by text app and did it that way - was no problem at all. All in all a fantastic hotel and a great weekend. Would recommend it without hesitation.

Room Tip: Views of Brayford Water or up to the Cathedral available

Booked the Double Tree for a special weekend and was not disappointed. Great view of the Marina from the suite rooms - well worth the extra cost. The design and feel of the hotel makes the other hotels in Lincoln show their age - really contemporary.

The best part was the top floor bar which was full of life in the evening - again a really different feel from most places in Lincoln....people dressed up and enjoying cocktails - we could have been in Vegas!

Definitely coming back to here when in Lincoln again.

A wonderful hotel. Comfortable clean rooms, caring staff and superb food. Not the most picturesque of locations but more than made up for by the excellent staff. Well done.. Do try the rump steak - never had better !!!

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing Brayford Pool

Thank you for your comments regarding your stay and the great feedback about the rump steak - it is good i agree!

We do have a handfull of rooms that dont offer the best view in the world but the majority have unrivaled view of the famous Lincoln cathedral up on the hill and the beautiful Brayford wharf and waterways.

To really appreciate the views and location we do have, come up to the Electric bar or dine in the Restaurant on the balcony overlooking the cathedral to really appreciate we have a great location really.

Best wishes

My husband booked us a suite at the Double Tree for my birthday as a surprise. We were meeting friends for a meal and some drinks in town.

Upon arrival we were disappointed to find that there was no parking. Well there is, but just 26 spaces and as there was a wedding taking place - we had no hope! I did mention this to the Reception, she apologised and said that we could have subsidised parking at Lucy Towers, so not so bad really - just expected (rightly or wrongly - not sure), that there should be parking at a large hotel.

That however is my only issue with the hotel. It's gorgeous, as I said we had a suite and overlooked the water to the front and we could see the Cathedral out of our bedroom window. The room is not massive, but what do you need it to be massive for?!! There is huge bed and huge telly in the bedroom and a sofa which turns into a bed and another huge telly. Incidentally if you do have impromptu guests to stay they hotel charges £45. There are no extra sheets or pillows included in the room.

The Electric Bar at the top of the hotel is great, the staff are very professional and they is an amazing array of cocktails. The breakfast in the morning was superb and much needed!

All in all, it was a good trip. I would recommend it highly.

Thank you for your recomedning our hotel in your review.

As you will see from many reviews, our parking is limited due to our plot size, shape of building and mainly as we have been built in the the city centre of Lincoln.

We do offer a reduced rate ticket that can be purchased from our reception for £2 to be used by hotel guests after 5pm until 10am the next day, i think this is a great offer as an alternative to our limited parking.

Really pleased you enjoyed you stay and we hope to welcome you back soon.

Fabulous location, friendly staff, and it is very luxurious. A couple of minor points, not enough parking, no bottled water in the room, no shower curtain and no one off switch for the numerous lights. Picky I know, but it is a higher end hotel. The restaurant copes well with large groups, and the food is very very good, ps try the steak in the restaurant it is truly wonderful.

Thanks for your feedback and feedback regarding your stay.

I am sorry you did not get any water in your room, this must have been an oversight on our housekeeping departments part which i have spoken to them about.

Not many new hotels nowadays have a central switch to turn off all the lights in one go, what we do have is many energy saving features in the hotel, but not this one.

Glad to read you generally enjoyed your stay with us and we hope you will choose us if you stay in Lincoln again in the future.

Best wishes
