I took my 2 children for dinner here tonight. We arrived at 7pm. We each ordered 1 dish and 1 round of soft drinks, our food arrived at 8.20pm.

My son's chicken was dry and flavourless. Mine and my daughter's duck bento box were lovely and tasted great.

Our 1st green tea was pure hot water. Our second served and made fresh by the young lady working there was lovely.

So very disappointed, especially because the people who came in after us ordered their food, ate it and paid and left before we even got our food.

We will not return.

Waited 30 minutes to be served....had to ask for menus and a drink.
Finally ordered starter and two mains. Starters arrived nice! Waited a further twenty minutes for the mains. Mine arrived and my girlfriends didn't....I started....nearly finished but girlfriends didn't! Went up asked and they had cancelled her order for no reason!
My prawn bento box tasted like a sweet and sour Uncle Bens sauce
Dreadful. Wasn't busy. No apology.

We have been long term fans of this restaurant, but our visit tonight has completely changed our view. The service was haphazard, we were there 25 minutes before anyone took our drink and food order. Then we waitied..........eventually some of the food arrived, but some of it did not come until much later, and some did not come at all.
The Osho sashimi should have had 20 pieces, but only had 18. No longer is there any surf clam, but some very strong tasting mackeral, no prawn. it was disappointing. That was bad enough, but the the size of the sushi has reduced drastically. So there were only 6 pieces in the catford roll and it was bland, the rainbow roll did not have rainbow strips of fish fish, but some terrible looking salmon on it, some of it was not worth eating and barely had any crab in it. On previous visits the sushi was so large you could barely eat it, but no longer. The chicken kara-age has an awful gloopy sauce with it, as did the soft shell crab which came much later in the meal, and was barely warm. The miso never arrived at all. We complained at the time, and were met with defensive justifications, The bill when it came was for the full amount, despite our clear dissatisfaction with the meal.
We challenged the bill and got a 10% reduction, I still did not feel what we ate was worth it. In the past we received a complimentary plum wine, even this was not forthcoming today. This has not encouraged us to return. Sayonara Sapphoro Ichiban, what a spectacular fall from fantastic to forgetable.

I had an ok beef ramen here a few weeks ago but felt compelled to switch tables. I had originally chosen to sit in the traditional Japanese seating area where sit on a cushion and eat on a very low table. You put your legs under the table which is under the floor. However, once I sat down I realized that my legs were placed under a floor that was not enclosed but open and dark. I suddenly became worried thinking that pests could easily nibble at my ankles. Not a good design at all.

Also, the restroom needed redecoration as did the front of the restaurant.

Make a phone call the day before to have a dinner then go the the restaurant they have a family party with out sigh to let customers know that they are not open on that day even the owner cannot manage how to have a conversation with customer also try to make a phone call and the line keep busy the owner shoud care for costomer. Otherwise they won't have costomers left i cime all the way from Kent so disappointed with this restaurant never go back again.BADconversation with customer ever.
