Booked it because it was slightly cheap and close to Westfield shopping centre! But the staffs were unprofessional and not to mention I had to pay extra just so my friend could visit me because apparently " no visits are allowed " the room was ok but shower had stains and the view out the window was a joke...looked like a gutter tbh.

Please don't waste your money in this "hotel"

Absolutely marvelous, right next to St. James Park and just a few minutes from sites, food and transportation. Great breakfast and afternoon tea. American Bar has some impressive history. A little pricy but food is good in bar.

Room tip: high floor has nice views in some rooms

There are some positives about this place: it's cheaper than the various hotel chains (it HAS to be), the rooms are clean, room service keep the towels renewed, my shower worked properly and had plenty of hot water.

Unfortunately the negatives far outweigh: the mattress was fit for the tip only (Room 4, in case anyone is paying attention) - I managed to find the 18" edge that wasn't entirely uncomfortable; breakfast was only available at an extra cost; the tv didn't work; the walls are paper thin, so thankfully I had quiet neighbours; and finally it's in a part of London that you mustn't walk the streets late at night on your own.

Finally, I completed the booking online, and there was no indication that I was required to bring photo ID in order to complete the payment on location. The receptionist insisted that the info was there, but unable to show me when I asked him to enlighten me.

If you really do not have any other options, and you are 'dead tired', then only then should you consider this place.

This is one place, where I did not feel safe and had great concerns on hygiene.

I don't believe, how this hotel even exists! As soon as you enter it smells of smoke and curry and you will not want to look around.

The reception lady could not find my reservation at first, then I was given my keys finally and told that my room was on 1st floor, turns out it was the second door from the reception!

I enter the room, first I see a bin in front of my, with all the mess in it, then the table with sugar and coffee all over the tale with 1 used coffee mugs. Then I see the bed, the bedsheet is half on the floor and the duvet is literally on the floor and someone has stood on it with their shoes. The toilet and bathroom smelled like they were not cleaned for months! the fittings are coming off and had some ugly green growth on it, I mean how can you call this a hotel!

I rushed out to the reception and asked the lady to cancel my reservation for 11 days. she calls up someone and educates me that 1st day is non refundable! I mean for this crap, you want people to pay money, i think that is how they are making money. charge GBP55 and then people just wont stay in the hotel, so keep the GBP55!

The worst is when I was leaving, there were 4 guys standing who did not look like they were up to any good! Glad I left and moved into IBIS Styles Leyton, which was available by great luck!

Room tip: Please do not book this hotel If you want to stay safe and hygenic Go for IBIS Styles at Leyton, it is less money and only a stop away by Tube and a bus ride
