We took chance of the three course menu plus a cocktail for £40 at Searcrys. It was absolutely perfect. The dining room is in floor 39 of the Gherkin warranting brilliant unseen views of London (spring light made it daytime still at 6:45pm fading into dark). We thought being nice and fancy would make the food come second best. It was not. We had a smoked salmon starter on toast, delicious. The sourdough bread and butter was likely amazing. For mains the venison was cooked to perfection: juicy, tender and it melted away in your palate. With hardly any space left we went for cheese dessert again perfect pairing with green apple slices.
After dinner you’re escorted upstairs to floor 40 for a drink with a view, what else to top up a perfect evening?
