I booked a double room with city view (incl breakfast) through lastminute.com for my boyfriend and I. When we arrived we were informed that we were given a complimentary upgrade to an executive room. It was big and beautiful. The en-suite was incredibly spacious with a large shower and bathtub. The decor of the room was very modern and obviously new. There was a tv over the bath tub with surround sound in the bathroom. The standard toiletries were provided, including toothbrush, toothpaste and shaver. The mini bar was not very expensive and aside from the usual tea and coffee facilities, there was also an espresso machine. Very chic. The bed was huge with plenty of pillows (most of which collapsed once you lay on them). The room also had slippers, bathrobes and a hair dryer. Unfortunately no iron and ironing board, although I am sure this would be provided on request.

We were informed that the hotel provides a complimentary shuttle service to Sloane Square.

We dined at the hotel restaurant. Service was attentive, without being intrusive. We sat by the floor to ceiling windows offering full view of the River Thames, as well as the helipad. Completely soundproof, we heard no outside noise. Breakfast in the morning had a vast amount of choices, sure to cater to anyone's taste and preferences. Staff at the hotel were incredibly helpful and polite. I would stay here again. The hotel is beautiful.

Also, we parked on a nearby side street for free.

Lovely hotel with a nice modern room which is spacious with a big tv. A big bathroom with a bath tub as well as shower with a great variety of toiletries. Nice decor in room, semi facing the river, heliport and other buildings. Personally I would have liked if the bed was facing the oppisite way so when laying you can have a lovely view of the river opposed to buildings. The bed and pillows very comfortable!

The spa area was gorgeous, shame the water in the hydro pool was a little on the cold side. Friendly helpful staff and as we were celebrating our anniversary they had left us a fruit basket, bottld water and a personal note in our room which added a nice personal touch. We also asked for a high room which the hotel provided.

Unfortunately the restaurant had a poor vegetarian selection so we had to find a resturant to eat at 10pm which the staff were helpful in but due to the location there is nothing in the walking area so had to get a taxi, which was pricy for the short driving distance. The breakfast was also dissapointing for 5 star in London, also veggie choice very poor, sign saying veggie sausages but there was none, my partner eats meat and he wasn't fond of his food.

The location isn't the easiest to find, would be helpful if the website stated it is a 45 min walk from the closest tube station or a ten minute bus ride from Victoria. They do provide a shuttle when leaving the hotel which is good but you need something when coming to the hotel too! Ideally we wanted to leave our luggage at the hotel after checkout in order to sight see but due to the location this wasn't practical and would be too tiring and time consuming to go back to the hotel so had to keep our luggage with us.

Nice hotel to relax at and being made feel welcome if you dont mind walking (weather dependent) but pack light if staying in London after check out!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night for our anniversary on the 23rd of august. This hotel is fairly new, so the interior is modern and stylish, with a lovely bar and terrace overlooking the river thames. Although, the drinks at the hotel bar are rather pricey, the terrace is beautiful and lovely to relax there on a summers evening. Also, this part of the river thames is really peaceful as the hotel is situated in battersea. We were very surprised with the hotel, as when we arrived at the train station, the general area looked a little rough but were pleasently surprised to find this hotel lurking off the main road, although it was pretty hard to find.

I would say this hotel is ideal for couples, the rooms are beautiful and romantic. Our room overlooked the river thames, and outside was a helicopter pad. We were situated on the 5th floor so had a great view of the river, london city and the helicopters. We were a little worried as the helicopters are very loud, however the rooms are quadruple glazed and there was definitly no interferance from the helicopters as the room is completely sound proof. This hotel was definitly unique as it was a novelty watching the helicopters landing and taking off!

The bed was one of the comfiest I have ever slept in! We had multiple pillows each which were incredibly fluffy and soft, as was the mattress and duvet. The bathroom had a TV built in the wall opposite the bath, and there was also a shower on the opposite side. This hotel is quirky, stylish and modern! I would say it is a hidden gem, if you are looking to go somewhere that is romantic, yet not in the hustle and bustle of central london, I would definitly recommend this hotel!

Also, the staff are incredibly helpful, as they knew it was our anniversary they left us a lovely fruit basket. It was the little things like this that made our experience with hotel verta great. Overall, we would definitly return to this hotel, and recommend it to other couples wanting a romantic escape in london!

Room Tip: Use a satnav if you are walking from the train station and request a room overlooking the river!

My wife and had a short trip recently at attend a wedding in central London. The name of the game was to find something comfortable and clean (remember this is London and the older, grungy, unupdated hotels can be a nightmare) to get over the jet lag quickly,

We got much more than we expected!
- a modernly decorated and clean room (this hotel was supposedly built 2 years ago)
- friendly staff
- beautiful views of helicopters (it's right beside the heliport) and Thames river
- our package included English breakfast (croissants, toast, cereal, cheese, cold cut meats, smoked salmon, scrambled or fried eggs, sausages, hash browns, mushrooms and grilled tomatoes)
- Internet
- free hourly hotel shuttle service to Sloane Square tube station. The venues immediately near the hotel are not great. We took the shuttle in the morning and then took a bus (bus "170 Roehamton, Danesbury Ave" that you catch on Buckingham Palace Rd which is one block away from Victoria tube/national rail station). We used oyster cards for trips ( easy and economical to use in London)
- not many boutique restaurants nearby
- not many fast food restaurants nearby
- a small desert and evening caffeine free tea delivered to our room each night. A nice touch
- we made use of the sauna and hydrotherapy tub (we really wish it was a hot tub for those chilly British evenings - the water was a weak 32'C)

We stayed at this hotel yesterday/today and it is absolutely fantastic! The staff are polite, friendly and helpful and the hotel is a lovely boutique style. The rooms are great with beautiful bathrooms, a lovely selection of specialist teas and an Nespresso coffee machine, super Molton Brown toiletries, a proper hairdryer, massive beds and really, really comfortable beds (I suffer with back problems and have a very good quality memory foam mattress at home, so am always wary of sleeping on different mattresses) and lovely fluffy pillows. A lovely touch is the turn-down service with homemade biscuits/little cakes which were left - great attention to detail.

The bar is great, we had snacks and Champagne (all properly opened and served) during the afternoon, all were delicious, especially the hand-cut chips - yummy - overlooking the heliport (and don't worry, you don't hear anything from your rooms) and the river. We didn't realise that guests get 20% off the bill - a great bonus!

Breakfast was scrummy - cold meats, smoked salmon, cheeses, artisan bread, fresh fruit, seeds, nuts, Tiptree preserves, scrambled and fried eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausages (and a real treat for me to have vegetarian sausages on offer) baked beans, mushrooms, croissants, pain au chocolat, freshly made toast, french butter pats, fruit juices and freshly made pots of tea or coffee (brought with cold and warm milk) - a real feast. Again, the staff were extremely effecient and very friendly.

We did not use the spa, so cannot comment on that (but if it's anywhere near as good as the rest of the hotel, it will be fab, I'm sure).

We are well travelled people and have stayed around the world in many wonderful places, including numerous 5* hotels. I can honestly say that this hotel and it's staff are up there with the best - we could not find fault with anything whatsoever. We HIGHLY recommend this hotel and we hope to return to Verta by Rhombus again.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the Heliport and the river are stunning (tripleglazing ensures no noise)
