On arrival, the receptionist was very friendly and welcoming. Our twin room was on the top floor (about 4 floors up with steep stairs) so maybe not so good for people with mobility problems? The room was beautifully clean and looked like it had recently been refurbished.
We didn't stay for brekkie as the very small basement room was packed with no spare seating (9.00am) so we ate elsewhere but overall, we had a fab time and had no trouble finding the hotel which is around a 10 minute walk from Paddington tube station.

Room Tip: Room 51 is at the top of the hotel with a lot of steep stairs

Stayed here for 6 nights.Hotel is very handy for the tube or to catch a bus.Staff were friendly and only too glad to help with our inquiries. No lifts was the only down side for me.My room was basic but compared to the other hotels in the area it was good value for money

Be carefull with booking and non refundable policy, hotel won ´t event speak to you.

We've just returned from a 5 day stay at this hotel. After reading past reviews we were worried but basing our thoughts on staying at other hotels with bad reviews, we decided to make our own judgment.
The hotel is in a lovely area of Paddington of period houses and we were pleasantly surprised by how nice it is. The hotel front has a quiet pull in area for taxis and clean and tidy.
The reception area was quiet, tidy and the receptionist, Anna, was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay as were the evening/night staff.
We had a first floor quadruple room for a family consisting of two double beds. The room was ample for a short stay base and was not overcrowded by the rest of the family (who had a similar room upstairs) when we gathered there for pre or post evening drinks. Lovely little Juliet balcony and ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower. From the reviews read we weren't expecting such a nice room nor facilities. The breakfast although basic cereals, juice, toast and hot drinks was quite sufficient and staff provided extra toast if required. Breakfast room was small and at times too busy but if you weren't in any rush a table was soon available and cleaned and replenished quickly.
For the area, the room as a base, the price was good and I certainly would return.
There's a lovely Italian restaurant less than two minutes around the corner and you are only a five minute walk from Paddington underground with plenty of cafes, banks, shops and well-known restaurants to suit all tastes.
Don't rely on the bad reviews- visit and make your own mind up! We weren't disappointed.

Hotel room pre-booked and confirmed, arrived at hotel to be told room was not available, Offered the "emergency room", basically a cupboard with a bed in it. Duvet had no cover on, so goodness knows what you might catch from it. Hotel filthy, and I mean absolutely stinking.....I wouldn't let my dog stay there.

Room Tip: Just don't.
