Both myself and my friend decided to visit the roof top bar (Toy Roof London) at the Courthouse Hotel last weekend. The lady who greeted us upon arrival was both blunt and rude when we enquired about sitting at another table to the one she offered. I was fully aware that this bar gets busy during peak hours and was also appreciative of the fact that tables may have been reserved accordingly. However, when we arrived there were no more than 3 people having drinks and smoking shisha. We sat where the lady allocated us, as she stressed there was no possibility of us moving. We suggested moving later if business needs required it but were ignored so sat down. Approximately 5 mins after our arrival, 2 people arrived and they were allocated a table which we has asked for, the lady serving them informed them that it had been reserved but she was content for them to use the table until the reserved party arrived. The difference in service between us and the new party was evident and was particularly uncomfortable. Having waited 15 mins to place our order, we opted of a peppermint tea each and a shisha to share. This took around 20 mins to come despite the bar not being very busy, during this time serval people came to take our order though we had stressed it had already been placed 20 mins ago! It was clear that the staff were unaware of what was happening and were far from concerned about the level of service that was being delivered. The staff members seemed more concerned with taking photos of each other on their phones. The bill for the above come in at £55+ with the shisha alone costing £45! Be warned that there is no price list/menu for the shisha but that aside we were really taken aback at the cost, given that other places within the similar vicinity charge around £25 for a standard shisha. Overall, the rudeness of the staff members and the lack of care for service was not reflected in the price that we paid. You are better of exploring other shisha/bars in general within the vicinity that are more likely to offer you both better experience and value for money.

We were visiting London and had a room in the Courthouse Hotel. All I can say is that the customer service skills the staff has is excellent!!
We got our room around 11 o’clock which is three hours before it should be. The room was cozy and clean.

The location of the Courthouse Hotel is amazing, just a minute walk from the Regent Street, 3 to Oxford Circus and less than ten minutes to Piccadilly.
On Sunday afternoon our taxi driver cancelled our settled ride back to Heathrow 30 min before our pickup but the hotel staff got us an optional ride to airport and we made there just in time.
Special thanks to concierge Mate, super awesome person who made it possible to our weekend to be a success. Thank you for the champagne bucket and the ice.

** Please note that this letter was sent to Mr Ghosh - Front of House Manager at his request, two weeks ago however we are yet to have any such acknowledgement **

We recently attended Afternoon Tea at the Courthouse Hotel (18th August) and were thoroughly disappointed with the whole experiece. Sorry this letter hasnt come sooner however as mentioned I was over from Australia to visit family and didnt wish to spend my holiday reliving the experience.

Sadly what was supposed to be a family treat to London to enjoy a girls afternoon and to celebrate my mums best friends Birthday turned out to be simply disappointing. My mother and Father had previously visited the Courthouse for Hightea and loved it so thought it was the perfect opportunity to visit again.

When arriving the attitude of the waitress who was servicing was awful to say the least, she had no manors, no nicerties and from the moment we sat down she bought a general attitude with her.

My mother and her friend had a gift voucher from a virgin experience and my sister and I were going to paying full price for the High Tea.

After some time the champagne arrived, it was then around 40 minutes later that we asked whether we would be getting the Tea any time soon, this then appeared about 10 minutes later. After sometime our high tea arrived of which we were very grateful as were rather hungry however much to our disappointment again the sandwiches were stale, we called the waitress over to explain they were stale but unfortunately she struggled to understand. A lady from another table then went on the explain to the lady that it meant it was old bread. Apart from the stale sandwiches, my mothers best friend is a strict vegetarian which was highlighted to the waitress when ordering (when she asked the waitress what vegetarian sandwiches were availble the waitress highlight they would have vegetables in - not very helpful or appealing), when the vegetarian sandwiches came they were place inbetween all the meat sandwiches - common sense would suggest that this wouldnt be correct. When we asked the waitress for a new lot of fresh sandwiches she picked up the tray and as she was turning around dropped some of the sandwiches on my baby boy, her response was to laugh - I wasnt impressed to say the least, not even a sorry!

We continued to wait and for cakes that were missing from the high tea, another waitress was walking around so we asked her for further tea and coffee. It was at this point we realised that about 6 tables were still waiting for just their tea to come, even though they had come in around the same time as us. Another 30 minutes or so had passed and still no tea or coffee, so we asked the original waitress where it was that we has ordered with the other lady to which her response was - “oh she doesnt really understand much”

All in all the experience was awful and compared to many high teas in London this was by far the worst. It is also disappointing that my father actually booked my uncle and aunt in to have high tea as a gift for his 60th Birthday and that evening after we visiting had to call to ask if they had used the voucher as was embarrased if they too received the same treatment - Thankfully they havent yet so fingers crossed the service picks up.

We absolutely loved the location of this hotel. Across the street is the bustling "Carnaby" shopping/dining district with TONS of food options in the morning so you weren't stuck eating expensive hotel breakfast, and also late night pubs for dinner, and spanish tapas places. Plus a Starbucks directly across the street. The rooms and bathrooms were large and clean, but the mattresses were completely worn down with large diveted craters. The double sized bed was actually two twins put together, so we had to sleep strategically on the seam to avoid the lumpy cratered areas of the mattress where you could actually feel the wire coils. Because we were tourists and generally completely exhausted at the end of each day, we would have slept on rocks. Also, there are no wash cloths given in the bathroom for bathing, so we had to purchase some at the drug store. The pillows are miniscule and flatten out. Lastly, the hotel room we had faced directly adjacent to windows for an office. We were so tired our first day that we inadvertently left the window curtains open and woke up to the office staff directly looking into our room. So we had to keep the shades drawn the entire time for a cave effect in order to maintain privacy. The couch inside the room is random. The hotel is a city block to Oxford Circus tube station and a block to shopping on Regent Street and the shopping on Oxford High Street. Directly across the street from The Liberty department store. Upstairs the hotel had a cute rooftop bar. The service is so-so, bordering on incompetent and rude. We had a brilliant indian speaking concierge help us with reservations for tea and his recommendation was perfection, we were so grateful. We looked for him later to try to give him a tip, but we did not see him again. We were so encouraged by that concierge experience that we thought we'd try again with the russian speaking concierge and that was a total failure. We asked for his recommendation for fish & chips, and he kept wanting to tell us about the spaghetti place on the corner (what?!). Then on the morning when we checked out is when we were most disappointed with our experience at Courthouse Hotel. We were treated extremely poorly by the hotel's valet, enough that I am posting it here. My husband and I are a diverse couple, both of us mixed heritage on both sides, but one of us "passes" more than the other. We both came off the elevator, both weighed down with luggage. However, the porter/valet on duty instantly goes to the one of us that passes, offered all of his assistance and completely ignored the other half - not even offering a greeting. Even though we were both standing together at the registration desk checking out, He continued to ignore us as a couple and only brought out just the half set of luggage out to hail the taxi, and it wasn't until both of us were loading up into the taxi that he realized his gross racial profiling and apologized. Overall, recommend this hotel for location only and recommend that the hotel give a stern discussion to their staff on how they treat their guests.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that faces away from the offices next door.

Having stayed here twice before, I booked this hotel again for a night with my boyfriend and it didn't disappoint. The location is excellent, directly across the road from Liberty. We arrived much earlier than check in time but they were happy to take our bags for the day so we didn't have to carry them around with us. The room itself was lovely and the bathroom was great, all very clean. Bed was big and very comfy.
The bar in the hotel was also great, I highly recommend sitting in one of the cells (pre-booking is advised). The bar staff were great, made excellent drinks in a timely manner and remembered our order for future rounds.

Lovely stay and will definitely be back again in the future.

Room Tip: Take advantage of the waterfall showers
