For a hotel on the edge of London's tourist and financial district, it was surprisingly peaceful once inside the building.

The room was everything one expects from a Premier Inn - clean, quiet and comfortable. The room I was given overlooked a central courtyard and it wasn't possible to hear the main road or the many railway lines behind the hotel.

Dining was excellent and a real testament to their hospitality. They'd launched a new menu shortly before my stay and it was a reaosnable improvement. I stayed for four nights and the staff were always friendly and remembered my choices - it's the many little touches like this that help convert the sterile chain hotel experience into a genuinely welcoming experience.

There's a Wetherspoons across the road if you want something different yet predictable to drink/eat, and a slightly quirky local pub just down the road under the railway arches. Tower Hill DLR and tube is less than 5 minutes' walk away.

Room Tip: Courtyard rooms will be insulated from any road/railway noise. Basement rooms are on the corridor to...

I wouldn't normally but I felt compelled to comment on the real quality of staff at the Hotel from the receptionist to the restaurant they were all really helpful and made me feel very welcome, you could genuinely see that they were all happy to be there working and looked like a really close team and this reflected in the service received, well done all.

The hotel is in a great location if you need to use Fenchurch Street Station. The double room was very large with plenty of hangers/space for clothes. Very large, comfortable bed and great powerful shower. You can control the room temperature and the staff were very friendly. I´d definitely stay again.

We stayed for a two night break for our anniversary with our son and his wife, excellent location for Tower bridge and tower of London. We had rooms together , the beds were so comfy, only niggle was the hair dryers are no where near a mirror.
Overall good hotel for the money with a Witherspoon directly opposite for an excellent reasonably priced breakfast
