We stayed for one night at The Apple House and it was great. Pam who runs the place is fab and all the staff are really friendly.

We had a family room which was a double bed and one single and the beds were really comfy. The tea and coffee tray was brilliant with a wide selections (and a couple of Yorkie bars!). The train line is close by but you don't hear any trains at night.

There is free parking.

The hotel is around a 10 min walk into town or to the Railway Museum.

Breakfast was amazing and they were really accomodating. The husband had a sausage and bacon sandwich, I had a full English and they did Egg and Soldiers for our 3 year old.

Love this place and want to go back there again!

Very nice guest house in great location only 5-10 minute walk to Micklegate Bar entrance to York city wall. Pam and Tony are great hosts and very helpful, and their restaurant recommendations were excellent. There is plenty of parking to rear of the property which was very handy. The property is on quite a busy road so would recommend a room to rear if you want to avoid road noise. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Room Tip: rooms at rear of property would be quieter as on main road

We arrived on the Monday, we had two room one downstairs we for my brother in law who is disabled and it was great as there was only steps to the front door, while we had a room on the first floor, rooms where very clean, tea coffee hair dryer and a TV in our rooms, we could of had the full English breakfast but we like a light breakfast, but it looked very nice as some of the other guests requested it, overall a very pleasant B&B very close to York Centre, big car park at the rear, Pam and Tony make you feel very welcomed would stay here again.

Lovely guest house. Easy reach of the city. Tour bus stop very near. Host, Pam, very helpful. Free ample car parking with a gate overnight. Tea/coffee and bottled water in the room. Not forgetting the Yorkie bar!! This was my birthday weekend and Pam left me a bottle of prosecco in the room - even putting it in her fridge for later. We had no problems but if we did, we know Pam would have gone out of her way to sort it. Thanks.

A lovely place to stay for a weekend break, the rooms were very comfortable, clean, and well supplied with tea, coffee, biscuits, chocolate bar and adjustable heating. Our bathrooms were modern, clean, equipped with plenty of toiletries. The breakfasts were excellent, wide choice of cereals, yoghurt, fruit, toast, spreads, and soya milk for those who don't want dairy. We didn't want them, but saw others eating fabulous cooked breakfasts, including a vegetarian option. The guest house is just 5 mins walk from York British Rail station and the city centre, the owners were very friendly and helpful, happy to advise about local restaurants, attractions etc. If you're looking for a guest house rather than one of the big hotels I doubt you could find better.
