We enjoyed a Family Sunday lunch here and the food and service were very good and the prices were reasonable. Looking forward to trying some of the other meals on the menu.

Our 3 course meals ordered on Saturday evening were delicious. I ordered Brixworth pate to start, fish and chips and Bakewell tart . The only hiccup was a sauce ordered for one steak was served 5 minutes after the steak arrived and the sauce the consistency of milk, this was a port and Stilton sauce. The neighboring table ordered the cheese board which looked fantastic. There are too many tables, seems as one in very space possible so a little cramped, the chairs are heavy and not terribly comfortable, staff were not engaging at all and felt the whole place lacked atmosphere. Bare wires hanging from the ceiling where light fittings need to be completed. Clearly lots has been spent on the refurbishment. May return as food good, but other very good competition close by.

We visited on Saturday with friends based on their suggestions since Tom Hewer took over a fantastic night the food was fabulous and great selection, quality second to none.
Staff were brilliant extremely busy service but they coped really well.
The value is excellent definitely coming back again soon.
The only comment could do with some cushion on the chairs bit uncomfortable after a while but they may be an age think, something us over 60’s need!

Although we are regulars at 'The Griff', tonight was the first time eating there since the new team arrived just before Christmas. We've already seen the amazing changes with the redecoration and new furniture to really breathe life into the place, but we promised ourselves we'd try the Tuesday night 'Meat & Malbec' ... three 6oz steaks (fillet, sirloin & rump), homemade chips and salad dressing, plus a bottle of Malbec, all for £35 for two! Steaks were amazing, perfectly cooked!!! All rounded off with great service with a smile. Can't recommend enough ... if you stopped coming here, now is the time to come back! We certainly will be eating here again soon.

My first visit this year since the new management had talen over just before Christmas and what a lovely experience it was.On entering the premises the first thing to notice was the bright warm and modern decor compared to previous.Friendly bar staff took our drinks order.Pint of ale £3.80 and Double G & T £6.The Menu is vastly improved with a good variety of items.Steak and ale pie for £12, Handmade burger £10 both very nive and good value.Sticky Toffee pudding and Bakewell tart to finish the meal was spot on.
Was a little surprised they had pork pies and other produce on top of the bar and not covered over by something to keep off any coughs or sneezes.Any village would be glad to have an establishment like this and it deserves to be succesful.
