We chose Wild Thyme as it was halfway between us and our friends, had great reviews and looked intriguing when I walked past it on a visit to Chipping Norton. Have to say we weren't disappointed, from the excellent breads to start with to the homemade Florentines with the bill everything was spot on despite the restaurant being fully booked. The four of us all had 3 courses and the quality of the produce and cooking was excellent. Wine list was good and reasonably priced with a good selection by the glass and service was good too, will definitely come back. The only downside and it's a minor on was that it is a low solid ceiling and quite enclosed, so sound travels and the table next to us seemed to be having a competition to bellow over each other, making it difficult to have a conversation. Hopefully if you go the other diners will be more considerate of those around them but all in all great restaurant which revived my faith in TripAdvisor reviews having been to a couple of highly recommended ones recently which didn't live up to their reputations- Wild Thyme definitely does.

We stayed one night in this B and B with an attached restaurant. Very reasonably priced room but the highlight of the stay was the evening meal. The food was absolutely superb, the service was attentive but not overwhelming and the ambience was excellent.

We always try to find somewhere special to go for our wedding anniversary dinner. This year we chose to go to Wild Thyme - and what a good decision that was!

The size of the restaurant means that it has a really nice, busy atmosphere on a Friday evening - but we were not rushed. The staff are truly excellent - attentive and friendly but not intrusive. And the food - where do I start........ Suffice it to say, we were both spoilt for choice. My husband enjoyed the gorgonzola soufflé and the duck and positively raved about the cheese board. (And having tasted some of the local cheeses offered I can see why!) I really loved the salt beef and asparagus starter followed by Mediterranean Stonefish. The selection of wine offered by the glass meant that we could both have something that worked really well with our respective dishes and was not over-priced.

Most of all we were impressed by the little extra touches - the olives and wonderful bread selection, and home made Florentines to go with coffee.

All in all we had a lovely night out and thought it was excellent value. We're looking forward to another visit soon.

My friend and I had a lovely evening meal.

We had a table on a Saturday night, the welcome you received by the front of house team was very welcoming and inviting.

The food was of such a high standard and delicious my friend and myself ended up sharing each of our courses, unable to decide which dish was our favourite, as they were equally tasty. The cheese board was fabulous, highlighting local cheeses in the area.

We had a fabulous evening, the time flew by with the possibility of walking back to our hotel, as we had not booked a taxi. Thank you to the staff who found a cab to get us back to our hotel.
