We chose Wild Thyme as it was halfway between us and our friends, had great reviews and looked intriguing when I walked past it on a visit to Chipping Norton. Have to say we weren't disappointed, from the excellent breads to start with to the homemade Florentines with the bill everything was spot on despite the restaurant being fully booked. The four of us all had 3 courses and the quality of the produce and cooking was excellent. Wine list was good and reasonably priced with a good selection by the glass and service was good too, will definitely come back. The only downside and it's a minor on was that it is a low solid ceiling and quite enclosed, so sound travels and the table next to us seemed to be having a competition to bellow over each other, making it difficult to have a conversation. Hopefully if you go the other diners will be more considerate of those around them but all in all great restaurant which revived my faith in TripAdvisor reviews having been to a couple of highly recommended ones recently which didn't live up to their reputations- Wild Thyme definitely does.
