This used to be a great little place, but during the last few years I've had a few negative experiences. Today was one of them. I met with a friend for a coffee. The choice of cake was VERY limited and did not look appealing. All they had left was: a crumbled piece of Victoria sponge, 3 quite dry pieces of chocolate cake and one slice of gluten free cake. Plus one brownie and a few flapjacks. So that was already disappointing.
However, customer service was also very poor. The table, although cleared off previous customers cups and plates, clearly had not been wiped down. There were crumbs and food bits on the table and chairs!
Coming up to 5pm, we were told they were closing in 5 minutes. As we got up to leave they switched off the lights. We sat upstairs and had to come down the stairs in the dark! A serious health and safety hazard! When I then wanted to quickly use the toilet before we headed out I was told that they had just been cleaned and i was not allowed to use them! It might have been a few minutes after 5pm at this point, but that doesn't mean I am forbidden from using the toilets! This was extremely poor customer service. VERY disappointing. I will not be going to this coffee shop any time soon.

Reasonably prices, warm a cosy little coffee shop. Great Christmas shortbread! A nice quiet retreat on a busy Sunday afternoon in the city centre!

Came in on a cold day to be welcomed by a warm log fire. You wouldn't have that in Starbucks! Good coffee at a decent price too

Great characterful Place with very good value food and drinks to have in or take away. On top of all that, it also has the lowest prices!

Tucked away in a back street close to the Westgate shopping centre it's an oasis of calm with a delightful real fire. Just what you need in a cold and windy November morning. And to top it all the prices are low. I had a lovely croissant and flat white for £2.95
