We visited here at the weekend to enjoy afternoon tea as a celebration.
When we arrived, there was a wedding reception ready to depart for the church - the crowd were very complimentary about the hotel, breakfast and accommodation and all seemed really impressed with the service they had received so far.
We decided to sit outside in the glorious sunshine and enjoyed the stunning gardens.
There was a wide selection of teas available but we opted for coffee, which was really smooth and tasty.
Our afternoon tea was really well presented and the cakes and sandwiches were delicious. We also enjoyed some lovely prosecco.
Rute was the wonderful lady who took care of us during our couple of hours at the hotel and she was really friendly and helpful.
We are definitely going to return to enjoy another afternoon tea or perhaps lunch in the future.
We would highly recommend Holt Hotel - the staff were great and we were really well looked after.

As a present my husband and I had afternoon tea. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The gardens gorgeous with fabulous flowers and hanging baskets. Lovely old ambiance. Lots of cakes and a scone each.

Disappointed that there were paper napkins- I think a nice linen napkin takes the experience to a different level. I am a veggie so I must have sent the staff in a spin because I had two cheese fingers and my husband two ham! I do think three fingers is not enough - my other experiences have been 5 or 6.

Having said that we are gong to try the restaurant one evening hope with a linen napkin!

Tasty afternoon tea served by the fire. Staff are friendly, polite and helpful. Setting is comfortable and interesting. Plenty of easy parking. Set in a main crossroads The Holt is of historical interest. It is also a popular wedding venue, restaurant and hotel. There are function rooms to suit most occasions be they business or pleasure.
Will definitely make a return visit.

Myself and 9 friends stayed here last weekend as we were attending music event at nearby Blenheim Palace. It was very busy on our arrival on Saturday but service at reception was quick and efficient with all rooms ready. Service in the bar and restaurant was excellent. We had evening meal in the restaurant before we went to concert and the food was excellent with a great choice. One member commented “I could eat everything on this” (he almost did!!) Breakfast was very good also. Beautiful grounds around the hotel also. I have been here before and it is improving every time.

And for one night only we stayed at The Holt Hotel named after a highwayman shouted Holt to the stage coach.
Spent the day & evening at Blenheim Palace about 6 miles away as they had a gig in the court square with the Waterboys & Elvis Costelo.

Good buffet breakfast.

Room Tip: Avoid room 66
