Visited Saturday evening with friends who had not been before. They were impressed. The menu had a good, diverse selection of dishes which meant choosing took some time. All dishes were excellent. The Malbec was a very good choice. Staff pleasant, attentive and helpful. Customer loos were clean.
Happy to return.

Busy, buzzy, friendly and reasonably priced, this is as good as it gets for high quality food in central Reading. Park at the Oracle and it's a short walk away. The staff are very friendly and fun. The veggie starter was excellent but the main (falafel) was less impressive as the falafel itself was on the heavy side and there was a repeat of several of the starter ingredients. Desserts (oreo cheesecake and a very festive cranberry and orange bakewell) were the standout. Recommended for a special occasion.

The food and service was excellent.

However, as we were leaving I noticed that the staff toilet door (normally locked) was open and I couldn't help but notice how dirty the room, toilet and sink was. There were chefs whites hanging in the room as well so not a great indicator for general behind the scenes cleanliness at this restaurant.

Having not visited LSB for over a year due to change in family commitments a friend and I decided to have a joint birthday celebration here last week.
We were going to splash out on the a la carte menu but the range of choice on the fixed price options included both of our favourites so we settled on this - together with a bottle of the house rose champagne!
The fish cake starter contained good proportion of fish, served with delicious salad and sauce, I followed this with pan fried salmon on a bed of roasted Veg & chorizo - delicious. My friend had the haddock and chips which was ginormous but melt in the mouth light batter, freshly cooked chunky chips and proper mushy peas

An Oreo chocolate cheesecake to share accompanied by espresso martinis was a perfect end to a superb meal - made all the better by first class service from our waiter Damien and overseen by Dan who looked after us like princesses!!

We will return as soon as time permits!

We absolutely love LSB. Great food and fantastic service. Had a lovely lunch there today with well matched wine. It’s totally brilliant!
