Description: With a sunny light-filled dining room and two AA Rosettes, Chez Maw restaurant in Shropshire is guaranteed to impress even the most fanatical foodies. Located in Ironbridge near Telford, Chez Maw enjoys picturesque views looking out over the parklands, gardens and the River Severn - ideal for post-dining strolls - and the understated dining room has been recently refurbished in a chic palette of vanilla and blonde wood. The restaurant has a brilliant modern British menu, and we love the pressed Wenlock Edge ham hock and parsley terrine with red cabbage and apple puree; the fillet of Welsh Black beef cooked in a shallot marinade served with potato fondant, buttered spinach and a poached egg; and the mocha panna cotta.

This is the restaurant of the Best Western Valley Hotel, where we stayed for four nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. So, we dined here every night.
The choice of food from the a la carte (and daily specials) menu is varied and so different to "chain" establishments - fortunately dining there each night meant that could work our way through a number of the delicious options. Everything is freshly prepared and consequently any intolerances/allergies can be catered for.
Food was of high quality and well presented.
Without exception all restaurant staff are extremely helpful and nothing is too much trouble.
Excepting those who simply like plates piled with food, I would highly recommend this restaurant.
The hotel is rated three-star and that seems about right, but this restaurant with its two-rosettes is of higher quality.
Even if you don't intend to stay at the hotel a visit to Chez Maw is recommended - booking is essential if you are not to be disappointed.

Based in the Valley Hotel this restaurant is a very nice place to eat with a extensive menu and good service, it provides attention to detail and good portions of food. I had the lamb and it was very well cooked and melt in the mouth, good selection of wines and it’s not that expensive

Would recommend as a good place to eat.

Overall this is somewhere that rates highly in Ironbridge for food quality and service. It’s not a cheap eats restaurant so you expect quality and you get it. Our group had a delightful evening and we will most certainly be back in the near future.

Stayed over and had an evening meal in this much acclaimed restaurant. Starter and main were beautifully prepared and displayed. I can see why Chez Maw has 2 rosettes. A lovely candlelit ambience with low background music. Staff were very attentive and well mannered.

We stayed at the Best Western Valley Hotel and ate in the Chez Maw a 2 AA Rosettee restaurant on each of the 3 nights and we thoroughly enjoyed each meal. The A La Carte menu offered a wide variety of dishes with English and Continental influences, with a fair selection of vegetarian dishes available. The cuisine was of a high standard and we found the staff friendly and efficient.
