We stayed at Ferndell again on one of our trips to Shrewsbury. The standards are still excellent. We had a very warm welcome from Sarah who offered us a slice of her delicious chocolate cake. We love the double room which is spacious and airy. The bed is very comfortable. It's lovely to sit in their kitchen, while Sarah cooks a great breakfast, and you can chat to the other guests and catch up on the latest news in Shrewsbury. It's so convenient for the town centre and local restaurants.

Ferndell was the nicest place I've stayed in two trips to England. The room was huge, lovely, bright, comfy, and clean, and the house is a gem. Sarah and Stu are wonderful hosts, and the location is terrific - an easy walk from the town center and near a park in a nice neighborhood. I particularly like the way guests are integrated into family life. Sarah was so welcoming and I enjoyed chatting with the children before they left for school. Sarah even made me marmite and toast after having provided a full cooked breakfast, just because I'd never had it before (and I loved it). This B&B sets the standard to which all others should aspire!

My husband and I stayed for two nights and found the whole experience was great. This was a business trip for me which then started a holiday. The B&B responded to both needs with timely breakfast the first morning, then a more relaxed one the next. The whole family were charming, the house very comfortable and well appointed and the chocolate cake and homemade marmalade delicious. We want to go back so that Pete can try and beat Charlie at Connect Four.

A great little b&b not too far from the town centre and railway station - easily walkable. A very welcoming family with cake and tea on arrival. Rooms are great and spacious.

House has plenty of character and breakfast is freshly made to order.

Excellent B&B - "en famille" ethos, relaxing and enjoyable place to say. HIgh quality, large, well decorated rooms, with a lot of consideration to guests' needs. Homecooked food, homemade chocolate cake with tea in room - lovely. Quiet location, lovely river walk to town city centre (15 minute walk). So very convenient, whilst quiet, private location. A "home from home". As a business woman who often travels, this B&B is a rare, hidden gem. Beautiful period house to stay in - would highly recommend.
