Description: Situated in Widcombe, very close to the centre of the famous spa City of Bath, the Ring O Bells is a two minute walk from Bath Spa railway and bus stations, and close to Bath Rugby and Cricket grounds. Most definitely a locals favorite serving seasonal food using locally sourced ingredients, the Ring O Bells welcomes you with a warm, intimate atmosphere. A wide selection of beers, real ale from Moles of Melksham and international wines are available, along with delicious and varied menus including everything from generous tapas with homemade bread to Sunday Roast, plus a la carte fine dining and a good selection of vegetarian dishes. You'll find live jazz in the bar every Sunday evening, and events in the separate upstairs function room, which is also perfect for your private parties. This country feel gastropub with flagstone floors and large tables is a great place to meet with friends and eat good food at any time of the week. Adjacent to the River Avon and Kennet & Avon Canal, and close to Prior Park Gardens National Trust land, the Ring O Bells is also an ideal stop off point while exploring Bath.

Firstly don't be fooled the restaurant is slightly outside Bath but walkable from the bus or train station. Most importantly though it's worth the walk.
The atmosphere is of a friendly country pub with quality menu found in the finest establishments. The staff are friendly and helpful no chasing you from the table.
I had the chowder to start small potion but big on taste, my partner had rolled pork which was wonderful our friends had quail which they had never had and both agreed it was excellent. The mains all built on the wonderful starters, so good we had dessert including the cheese board and port. The wine was good and the value overall was fair.
Thoroughly enjoyable we all agreed to revisit, hope it doesn't get too well known.

Thank David J

First visit here last night. Staff were attentive, courteous, amenable and personable. I assume the man who looked after us for most of the evening was the manager (apologies, I didn't get your name) but what a fabulous host & what a fantastic place you run. The food was superb. Such a refreshing change to get excellent service and food at a reasonable price. Will definitely be back next time we visit Bath. Thank you!

Had a starter of pumpkin soup with monkfish tail, mussels and a prawn. Soup was tepid, the prawn was rubbery and bland with no flavour - it all needed seasoning. My companion just wanted a bigger dish as it was too small. Main course was veals liver which my companion enjoyed, but agreed that the chlorine tasting piece on my plate tasted different to his... mentioned to chef, reply "well, they come from the same batch, have a free dessert". Had some tiny 'no wobble' and over gelatinised pannacotta to compensate. When are chefs going to learn: tiny portions of food need to be PACKED with flavour in every mouthful, not just SMALL portions. Would not return, would not return. The braying rugby types at the bar kind of ruined the ambience too.....
