We stayed at the Tasburgh House for our first wedding anniversary after reading about it on trip advisor and we were certainly not disappointed. It was the perfect place to stay for a special romantic visit to Bath. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel really welcome and received the personal touch from Antonia and Sue that makes the visit to the Tasburgh so special. No visit is complete without trying Antonia's homemade brownies which were absolutely delicious!

We chose Tasburgh House on the strength of favourable comments on Tripadvisor and were not disappointed. Staff were welcoming and helpful and nights peaceful (our most important criterion). Continental breakfast in the conservatory was ample and enjoyable. The walk downhill through the extensive gardens to the canalside path to the city centre was also pleasant and convenient. We had requested a ground floor room and were first shown the Eliot Room which is large and nicely furnished but has only a small shower room. The adjacent Hardy Room is smaller but has a good sized bathroom with full sized bath - very enjoyable after a day's walking! We chose the latter, which also has splendid views over the garden and across the canal to the city and the hills beyond. The car park is small but adequate. The one drawback was the late (by our standards) start to breakfast at 08.30 which in high summer makes a late start to the day's sightseeing. However the views from our bedroom window while drinking early morning (pre-breakfast) tea were a great compensation.

£90 for a night in a basement room and they wanted to charge extra for a cooked breakfast. Acres of gardens for those who want to spend a leisurely few days, but over-priced for a one night stop-over.

Location was perfect and on arrival we were shown all around the hotel and how to access the cannal through the gardens to walk into town.

Great period features throughout and the conservatory was great for breakfast.

If the bathrooms werent so small I would of give the rooms a 5 too.

Definitely would recommend and use again.
