This inn is so relaxing and enjoyable. The rooms feel like a retreat and are so comfortable. The terrace is stunning. I could have stayed here all day. The breakfast was good with a hot breakfast as an option. The inn keeper was very helpful on local sights and places to eatl

We try very hard to ensure all our guests make the most of their stay by experiencing the terraces and fountain as well as the walk through the gardens down to the canal. Next time you stay, if we can entice you, we hope you will have enjoyed so much of the many Bath sites that you will linger longer on the terraces and perhaps take a picnic down beside the canal? Thank you for the lovely complimentary words.

No detail was missed in our stay, from cleanliness and comfort to arranging a taxi to deliver our luggage so we wouldn’t have to carry them through town before leaving.

Beds were very comfortable and breakfast was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed the garden view and the walk into town through the fields and along the canal.

The staff was incredibly welcoming and very attentive. (Huge thank you to Sue, Peter, and Emma) They went out of their way to make our stay great.

The inn is just outside the city centre, but it’s not at all out of the way. It’s very easy to get into town but where it’s located means there’s peace and quiet when you’re done with your days.

Highly recommend.

This is a lovely boutique hotel which was fully booked during our two night stay. The public area are exceptional as are the grounds which lead you down to the Thanet & Avon Canal and a gentle walk into the centre of the city.
We looked forward to one of their highly recommended breakfasts only to find the service that came with it was far from acceptable. Not all breakfasts were served at same time (had to remind staff of missing breakfast and the toast after some 5 plus minutes) - advised it was busy! By the time toast arrived (told the toaster was playing up!) my breakfast was cold and had to be replaced (further delay). Despite waiving the cost of my breakfast this was not the experience or the start of the day I was expecting. This issue I believe sits with the kitchen and not the waitresses who were very friendly and apologetic.
On our second night we arrived back to find no sign of any night staff to serve us drinks (this was well before the bar closing time!).
We booked as two couples but were placed in rooms at different parts of the hotel.
The bathrooms in both our rooms were very compact (mind your head when using the sink) but the shower tray in the terrace room was downright dangerous. So so slippery and the tray unable to deal with volume of water from a great shower, thus adding to the danger of slipping.
Although this was a very very nice hotel, I do not believe that based upon the issues highlighted here that the price matches the quality and experience. We were disappointed with too many things and would not at this stage stay again without some reassurance that improvements have been made including general maintenance of the rooms e.g. filling of skirting boards etc.

Dear SSM2286

This is not the service or standard we aim to deliver and can only apologise for the disappointment you have experienced. We have noted all your comments and will immediately improve any unsatisfactory areas.

In the meantime I hope that we can entice you to return any time before November 2018 for another overnight stay at no cost to yourselves (subject to availability, of course)

We spent three nights at this elegant hotel and enjoyed every minute. Sue, the proprietor, has thought of everything to make guests feel welcome and cosseted. Our room, the Bronte room, is decorated beautifully in floral chintz and has a stunning view over the terrace and gardens. The bed is supremely comfortable and the crisp linens a joy to slip into each night. Like most historic hotels, the room isn't large, but very good use is made of the space. Two comfy chairs and an ottoman provide a spot for reading or relaxing in the bay window.

Breakfast was delicious, and fresh milk was provided to our room (for use with the tea- and coffee-making set) whenever we liked. We enjoyed cocktails (made with Bath gin, of course!) in the cozy drawing room.

Be sure to wander down through the gardens and walk along the canal into town at least one morning; we enjoyed it so much that we extended our walk past the usual town turnoff. You'll see a wide variety of narrowboats (some quirkily decorated), beautiful wildflowers, and the elegant architecture so prevalent in Bath.

Best of all, though, is the customer service at Tasburgh House. We had a late-afternoon train to catch, and Sue reserved a taxi to pick up our luggage and deliver it to us at the train station a half hour before our scheduled departure. (This allowed us to enjoy the day in Bath without bags.) However, the taxi never picked up our luggage despite having been confirmed by Sue in the morning. We called Tasburgh House in a bit of a panic, but Sue saved the day! Once she called the taxi company and decided that a taxi couldn't reach the hotel and then the train station in time, she heaved our bags into her car and drove like crazy to bring them to us. We are everlastingly grateful to her (and hope her blood pressure has normalized by now!); we made our train with about 30 seconds to spare.

Thank you so very much, Sue, Emma, and everyone who made our stay at Tasburgh House so enjoyable. We can't wait to return.

Tasburgh house is a beautifully appointed B&B, close to Bath but just far enough away to experience the beauty and peace of the area. The local pubs are great and the walk to them is easy. Susan, the owner, went far beyond the call of duty and we deeply appreciate her help and empathy. Look no further for Bath accommodation.
