Quaint hotel with large secret beer garden at the back giving great views of the castle and village. Garden really nicely done and great place to relax after visiting the castle service was a little comical, they got our order wrong three times, and we only had two drinks and two packets of crisps. All very pleasant though and would def use again

Thank you for your kind words (and patience) I am sorry if you found the service to be a little comical, sometimes it does feel like we are living in a sitcom! I hope that despite any confusion, chaos or the like, that you can see that the we have a lovely team of staff who work tirelessly and ultimately care hugely about our guests and customers. Thank you again for writing us a review and I hope that we will welcome you back again soon.

We tried to visit here fir Lunch, during a trip to Dunster.
We were looking for the Garden seating area when we were stopped by a staff member.... who seemed rather put out that we had dared to look inside.

Having been chastised for daring to look, and after being made to track and trace before we knew if we were staying, we decided we didn’t like the “ snotty” ambience and left.

We found a much friendlier Public House further down the road, and spent an enjoyable two hours and £70 on lunch there.

We had lunch at The Luttrell Arms on Monday 17 May 2021 while on our first day of holiday. This is an exceptionally wonderful place to eat, set in the charming village of Dunster. The food was fabulous. We had a whole grilled sea bream and a gourmet burger and the decor, staff and environment were just wonderful! A real treasure.

Staff were very friendly and attentive to Covid precautions. A traditional pub feel and cosy. The food was excellent and value for money. I will certainly return when in the area.

Living locally I have been to the Luttrel’s many times over the years. I had heard some disappointing reviews about the food yearly in the year. I am pleased to say it’s not the case now.

The service is excellent and the waitress happily offered recommendations. She recommended the scotch egg which was possibly the best scotch egg (still runny) and the beer battered code & chips. These were deep fried without being greasy or fatty, I could only describe as ‘clean’, crispy and just right.

We would wholeheartedly recommend and come back again. My apologies for not taking photos as the food went quickly!
