We stayed two nights while visiting family and this was a great place. We had a lovely room in the annex which was clean and tidy; good tea and coffee and bathroom toiletries. Breakfast was excellent, really good choice of different things and all well done. Having a bar that you can get a drink in the evening to have in your room (or drink in the lounge) was great. Would stay again.

Conveniently located and within walking distance of the various attractions and restaurants. There is on-site parking. The room was clean and comfortable with a good sized bathroom with a good shower. There was plenty of choice for breakfast.

A well placed b&b in Bury, in walking distance to shops and the Abbey and gardens.
Our room was clean and comfortable. A good shower and bathroom. No bath which didn't bother us.
There is a small car park on site which is convenient.

We are fairly local to Bury St Edmunds and like the wide variety of restaurants so often eat out and stay in one of the hotels in the town centre. Usually we stay at the Angel Hotel but, fortunately for us, we were unable to get a room there this weekend so we had to look elsewhere. We had noticed the Chantry hotel when driving through Bury and after reading the reviews we thought we would give it a go and we were so pleased we did.
On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly member of staff, shown our room and offered a cup of tea in the bar. Our room was on the second floor and had views of St Mary's church from the window. The room was well equipped and had a wonderful ensuite with a bath as well as a shower, I must say the room was much nicer than the ones we have stayed in in another well known hotel in the main square in BSE. The room was very quiet, although we were aware that there were guests in the other rooms you could not hear them once that were in their rooms. We had an excellent nights sleep.
For breakfast there was a selection of cereals, fresh fruit, juices and a a full cooked breakfast menu, all cooked to order and served to you by the waiting staff. The food was cooked just how you asked for it, the coffee great. We will certainly return to the Chantry Hotel.
