Description: Just steps from the High Street Newmarket we bring you a real Turkish tastes and flavours. It is quality food, made by talented professionals, in a friendly atmosphere. Choose it because of it's ratings and it didn't disappoint. The server was knowledgable and infectiously chatty. The food was excellent, we had the complete meal option, and the prices very reasonable, lots of people were welcomed by the host so I reckon they have regulars. A low key place with a TV screen of the chef doing the cooking. Definately worth a visit, we will go back again and recommend :))

Now the Dalyan Meze Bar & Restaurant the establishment has gone through something of a major facelift. Interestingly you can access the Dalyan from the main High Street and enter what looks as a stand alone small restaurant. However, it is joined to the much larger and colourful restaurant at the rear which backs onto the shopping arcade.

The menu served here is traditional Turkish and the meze starter was a great way to kick off what turned out to be an excellent meal. With chicken shish main course and a superb Turkish coffee, the experience was definately above average and at more than a reasonable cost too.

The staff are friendly and attentive and if you are stopping in the Newmarket vicinity then I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Four of us stopped here for lunch on the way to London from Norwich.

The restaurant was a bit cold, which wasn't very comfortable, but not enough for us to change our minds. We sat in the back near the grill where we could see the food being prepared, which was nice.

The service was good and we had some good food: babaganoush, humous, moussaka and a couple of mixed grills. The meat was tender and the bread was very good: seemed to be freshly made. One of the pieces of chicken was under-done: raw in the middle, but everything else was good.

I see from the other reviews that the non-functioning debit card machine is part of the "normal" here: that what I had too (but luckily I had enough cash on me and it wasn't a problem). The lady who served us was very helpful and friendly.

Staying at the Premier Inn just around the corner for a night, we were glad we ventured out to eat to find something different. We came across this restaurant (now called Dalyan) in one of the little walkways near the hotel and didn't bother looking anywhere else - the menu tempted us straight in!

It was very early doors (as we had our 2 year old son with us) but we were made welcome by the waitress and all the family. Said two year old was absolutely fascinated with the two tanks of tropical fish, which meant we could tuck into our lovely food in peace! Other half had lamb's liver starter and the Dalyan mixed grill main (cooked on charcoal in the back of the restaurant!)which he loved and I had stuffed aubergine. Ah the yoghurt that came with it was delicious!! So good. And all really nicely presented too. We were served a lovely little platter of Baklava and fruit as dessert, all washed down with a strong Turkish tea.

Our little boy Liam had a lovely kiddies menu. He had a drink, pasta and a whopping slice of yummy chocolate cake for not very much money - I can't remember how much it was now, sorry! He was even given some Turkish lollies to take home with him. Lucky boy.

Anyways, all in all very good value for money, very nice presentation and a lovely family atmosphere at early doors even though we were the only ones in there. Would definitely come back as there were lots of interesting things to try on the menu.

I recently had occasion to dine at this restaurant, which I'd never heard about. Although it was empty when we arrived, we found the atmosphere pleasant and the staff courteous and efficient. Our Bulgarian waitress was particularly helpful, and did her best to ensure that our meal was a pleasant one. The food was of first rate quality, and I say this as an ex-patriot Englishman who had lived for over 40 years in France. The meal, cooked to order, was excellent, and the wine (the owner's choice, from Antalya) just as remarkable, even if a little pricy. If you're in or around Cambridge or Newmarket itself, give this place a try. You won't regret it.

Firstly, the food was gorgeous, lovely flavours, a treat for the taqste buds. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I have read the other reviews giving unfavourable comments re. the "new manager" but we found him to be very good and friendly. We were a group of four and all had a lovely time. Some may think it expensive but it is worth it, especially the Efes...... maybe too much drinks, lol.
