Stopped in Woodbridge for a late lunch having been to Sutton Hoo. Wandered down the Main Street and saw the sign pointing to the Cook Shed. Looked at the menu, could find something to suit all our party. One ordered the chees toastie warned that this could mean a little wait. Seats inside, outside in the courtyard and in the yard. Drinks brought quickly. Huge pot of tea for two, more than two cups each, my husband’s criterion for a good cafe. The mackerel pate was superb, plenty of it and an interesting salad to go with it. The avocado, bacon and sourdough was also voted a hit. ( the smell of the bacon cooking was enticing) the cheese toastie was worth the wait. Not sen one with such a depth of cheese in it. There were lots of delicious looking cakes on the counter, but we didn’t have room for them as portions were generous on our lunches.

This warm and welcoming eatery came to our notice a month ago. We enjoy doing the Deben walk in Woodbridge at least once a week and stop off for lunch. We think the Cook Shed is something special providing a tasty and interesting lunch menu.

We stopped in for lunch on an overcast day. The menu looked enticing for a couple of vegetarians and we ordered a salad (which was itself sitting on the counter) and the carrot and coriander soup.
About fifteen minutes later the lady behind the counter came around to the front of the counter and dished out the salad. The soup arrived shortly afterwards. Neither dish was memorable and for prepared food, both took quite a while to reach us. Not that we were in a hurry, but for God's sake how long does it take to dish out a prepared salad.
The staff were very pleasant and at £12 for soup and salad, the lunch was fairly reasonable. Lots of nice reviews here so perhaps we just hit them on an off day.
