Fabulous hotel exceeded my expectations.
Room clean and comfortable. Stayed here on my first coach trip. The evening meal was a set menu with a choice for each course so something for everyone and the breakfast buffet had a good choice. Rachel and her staff looked after us so well. And all the staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming and the service we received was second to none. The hotel is in a gòod location with easy access into Newcastle but there are lots of places to eat and drink in the area also shops and supermarkets.
Would definitely stay here again.

Food was good, breakfast Fantastic....our room was really large comfortable beds, small problem being on the front, traffic and students however not so bad when we closed the windows....
We loved the bar it was buzzing...we were with the alpha coach trip for 4 nights ...I must say Newcastle people are among the most friendly in the world...thank you...Julia

We stayed at the Caledonian Hotel as we travelled to Newcastle for a wedding. Our first impression was how friendly and helpful the reception staff were. They arranged for us to check in early as we needed to get ready, a taxi was booked for us and we were kept informed when it was late.
The hotel itself is quite dated with the carpet very worn in places and it's quite a long time since I have seen an avocado coloured tiled bathroom!
Breakfast was surprisingly good with quality ingredients and again the waiting on staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
Just for the staff alone we would stay here again but would hope that things are improved with the decor.

Excellent hotel, staff very attentive, check in very helpful and efficient, my room was spacious and had everything you would need for a longer stay, I only had a single night stopover.
Evening meal was very good as was the buffet style breakfast, I wouldn't hesitate to book again on my next visit to Newcastle.
Many thanks to everyone.

Great little hotel, friendly staff, lovely room and overall good value. The room was really nicely decorated and had complimentary water, crisps and biscuits plus coffee and tea which all go down well if you’re with a teenager! Small criticism is no hand soap which with covid needs rectified. Comfortable beds and good breakfast. Nice location with a good bar.
