About a 10 minute walk from Birmingham New Street station, the hotel is located on a busy street, with a Wetherspoon's and a Sainsbury's within walking distance. I was given a choice, and opted for a room on the 14th floor; no issues with sound from outside or from fellow guests, and with 4 elevators, I didn't have to wait long to travel down to Reception or up to my room. Friendly staff at check-in, which took 5 minutes, and attentive staff at breakfast, of which there was a large varied selection to choose from. Free WiFi is always a plus, however the signal wasn't very strong on my floor. There was a safe within the room, big enough for my laptop and other personal effects; an added bonus was black-out blinds on the window. There's also a 24/7 gym available, and parking on the 2nd floor (chargeable). An overall great stay, and would visit again.

Room Tip: Rooms on the higher levels are quieter

On the whole a very solid stay but some work really does need to be done on sound proofing the hotel.

I will firstly start with the positives, such as the food was more than decent, the room was clean and comfortable and the staff, like every Hilton establishment were marvellous.

However, there certainly needs to be some work done to sound proof the hotel, not just from outside, but even guests in the room adjacent simply talking was disturbing loud. The hotel really does need some sound proofing attention, our sleep was heavily disturbed. Furthermore, the furnishing is a little outdated and could do with updating.

Yet, it is important to remember that this is not a 5 star hotel, so one has to be realistic.

A solid stay overall.

Room... Puddling condensation on window cill, sliding bathroom door didnt shut or lock and ventilation and heating was unresponsive. The second morning the entire hotel had no hot water!
Check in... took forever due to inexperienced staff on the desk
Breakfast... On the face on it it looked impressive. However the orange juice and coffee was disgusting on both mornings and the hot buffet breakfast was very bland.
Check out.... even worse than checking in!! due to hot water issue and everyone complaining to no avail.
I have written to the hotel direct and only had the standard we have received your email and will reply very soon. Well over a week later I am still waiting! So only fair to warn fellow travellers now.
Travel lodge, Premier Inn or Holiday Inn over a Hampton by Hilton for me from now on.

Room Tip: Just don't

Slightly grubby outside but lovely on the inside. Decent food. Wine shop right next door and only a 10 minute walk from Birmingham New Street. Friendly staff, comfy bed and power shower. Toiletries and towels. Doors close at 11 and 24/7 gym

Excellent hotel I and my family have stayed, and we had perfect weekend, rooms are spacious and comfortable and the view from the window is wonderful, the hotel staff are very nice and always there for you, I strongly recommend this amazing hotel to everyone .. and defiantly I will be back again.
