This hotel is ideally situated if visiting the Birmingham Christmas market. We drove to it and it was well sign posted. We knew it didn't have a car park and that they parked your car for you but what we didn't know was that at the end of our stay they charged us £20 ! I couldn't find anywhere on their website about the parking so I am not sure if they told you that when booking, as it wasn't me who booked the room. The room was lovely and spacious and clean. We had a room at the front so it was a little noisy on the Saturday night but nothing too upsetting. The breakfast the next morning was very good, lots of choice and the staff very helpful. I would definitely return here even with their parking charges !!

Room Tip: Ask for rooms not at the front of the hotel

Birthday stay on the DB&B and overnight stay deal and had an absolutely lovely studio room on the top floor. Spacious, characterful and amazing rain shower in bathroom. Huge (maybe 8') bed and slept really well. Gentleman on reception couldn't have been more helpful and would definitely recommend the valet parking option at £20 per day.

Delicious and skilfully prepared cocktails in the bar.

However, restaurant meal really let the stay down. Food was ok but service was dreadful. We had a good friend join us 5 minutes after we sat down but had to chase 3 times for her bread to be brought over. Prosecco was left in chiller out of reach of the table and we had to ask after about an hour for our glasses to be refilled. Steak was average and served without a steak knife which made it appear tougher than necessary and left my husband battling to cut it without making a fuss. Quite a few menu options were sold out (including no vanilla ice cream). Service really slow and coffees ordered to arrive with the puds didn't arrive and had to be chased (again) - not ideal when our friend was trying to get back in time for her babysitter.

Just back from an amazing stay at Hotel du Vin. Our room, Villa Maria, was fabulous - from the roll top bath and monsoon shower, the massive comfy bed and all the little extras like a coffee machine and variety of teas it all had a luxurious feel without the price tag and pretentious feel! The staff were all helpful, polite and friendly. The location of the hotel is great - just a short walk to the shops. We had a wonderful weekend - thanks

Let down by the food. Hotel lovely, staff very polite and helpful. The afternoon tea menu offered a good selection and the candy floss a unique touch. However we found the bread and cakes dry and not very fresh. The 'warm' scones were cold. Shame as everything else was good. At £20 a head though should be better. I think we would have been better having a meal in the bistro.

Our stay was memorable!! We were checked into Wolf Blass...the room is so spacious, the bed was very comfortable and the decor was immaculate.
Breakfast the following morning although it was very busy the food was great. The staff did their best to keep up with all our requests. Thank you so much to the team leader and all his staff for making sure we were all looked after.
